Miranda is at Kat's.
M: "Looking for this? (Holding a water bottle) Your nurse found it by a chair in your bedroom. She said you needed it for therapy."
K: "Oh well, now that I have figured out how to use this thing. I seem to be leaving things wherever I go. In fact, I need to go to the hospital and pick up some p.r. kits I left behind."
M: "Well don't you have p.t. with Carly?"
K: "After."
M: "Well I'm sure you could send somebody over there to get it for you."
K: "Well I wouldn't want to put anybody out."
M: "Or they could fax it. I'm sure they could fax everything you need."
K: "Aren't you smart?"
M: "Aren't you transparent? What did Stefan cast a magic spell on you yesterday?"
K: "Well he made a sports car appear out of thin air, and he made both of us vanish. So yeah, I guess he did."
M: "Well where did you reappear?"
K: "By the lake. With the sun shining and the birds flying back and forth. Just us."
M: "Oh, sounds beautiful."
K: "It was, we just sat there looking at the spectacular view. Telling each other the truth for hours."
M: "Well that's a lot of truth. When is his wife coming home?"
K: "Two days. (Yelling at the laptop) You hear that Stefan! We're running out of time!"
M: "Whew you're really out there aren't you?"
K: (Wheeling herself to the parallel bars) "I want to walk again."
M: "Hey, hey aren't you supposed to wait for Carly?"
K: "Theresa can you help us out here!"
Nurse Theresa comes into the room. (Kind of overdoing her walk-on part.)
T: "You're not moving furniture in here are you? Last time someone said give a hand, I wound up rearranging the living room."
K: "Just give us a hand would you?"
Miranda and Theresa help Katherine up onto the bars.
K: "I can do anything."
Doorbell rings.
T: "Should I get it?" (Its Carly)
K: "Yeah. Hey Carly you are just in time."
C: "Yeah I see you started without me."
K: "Yep. Watch this." Katherine moves both her legs.
C: "That was a step? By yourself?"
Katherine beams.

Carly is giving Kat leg stretch exercises. (She pushing it kinda far, going to pull a hamstring)
C: "Ok Katherine try to help me. Pull with your quads, lift. Do you know how amazing you are? It takes some people years before they can even stand on their feet and you're all ready walking. How that?" As Carly nearly pushes Kat's leg behind her head.
K: "That's great. Fine. OK!" Carly lets her leg down in one piece.
K: "You know this is more exciting than the first time I took a step. Nikolas raced me off to the hospital for this checkup that was absolutely pointless. I know now I just have to keep my momentum up."
C: "Excuse me, did you say Nikolas? I thought I was first on your list to teach you how to walk again. I'm going to have to have a little chat with him."
K: "Well Nikolas wasn't here exactly."
C: "Well I hope you didn't try to do it by yourself."
Katherine and Miranda exchange a wary look.
K: "No, my boss was here."
C: "Who's that? What do you mean boss? I didn't think you had one." Carly now is bending her toes every which way.
K: "Yeah, Stefan Cassadine. I am doing p.r. work for the hospital now."
C: "You are? Well Katherine that is incredible. That's great."
Katherine’s laptop rings. Katherine opens it. It's a message from Stefan.
' Dear Katherine. In my ongoing effort to make you smile. Please meet me...'
Katherine smiles.
K: "I really need to go."
C: "But Katherine we just started."
K: "I know, I'm sorry it's business. Something urgent came up."
M: "Do you need a ride?"
K: "No, I'll just get my driver but if you don't mind, I do need that information from the hospital."
M: "Oh yea, It's on my way I'll get it."
K: And if we could just reschedule for tomorrow (As Carly helps her into her chair) You know I'm supposed to call the physical therapy office to schedule you now. So if you could do that?"
C: "Sure no problem I can tell you're in a hurry."
K: "Sorry I need to go but I need to get changed."
Katherine wheels herself to her room.
M: "I'm sure it's really important."
Carly the pretzel therapist spy looks sneaky.
"Oh yea, I'm sure it is."

Katherine is in a swimming pool wearing a one piece swimsuit. The pool is surrounded by candles. Stefan appears wearing a white robe, which he takes off. He is wearing black trunks and his medallion. He walks down the steps of the pool and picks Katherine up in his arms. He looks to the sky as he twirls Katherine slowly through the water.
S: "It's twilight. It's my favorite time."
Katherine is watching him as he watches the night fall.
K: "You never told me that."
S: "I love the way it sneaks up on everyone. The light dimming imperceptibly. The sounds of the day slowly giving way to the softer sounds of night."
He meets Katherine's eyes.
S: "You know most people don't even notice it."
K: "How'd you find this place?" As she reaches her arm around his shoulders.
S: "A recent acquisition. Perfect retreat though isn't it? Completely secluded, miles from everything and everyone."
She fondles his medallion.
K: "Have you ever brought anybody else here?"
S: "Never."
K: "Then it's our place now."
S: "Yes."
K: "I don't know how you did it but you've topped the lake."
S: "So you like this better do you?"
K: "Yes." In a whisper as she strokes his chest.
S: "Why is that?"
K: "The way you're holding me."
They touch noses and cheeks and embrace as the candlelight reflects off the water.
Stefan holds Katherine at arms length in the pool. She is able to step towards him. He lifts her up to eye level with his, their bodies touching and they kiss. And they kiss. And they're still kissing. OK they've worked their way across the water to the pool steps. They kiss some more until Katherine laughs as she puts her hand in the water.
S: "What's funny?"
K: "We are. What are we doing?"
S: "Having a swim." Kissing her.
K: "I see."
S: "It's good therapy for you."
K: "We talked about this before. You may call it physical therapy but it sure looks and feels like an affair" Kat slides off his lap. "The only thing that's missing is the obvious."
Stefan's face betrays he has an obvious.
K: "It's almost like a silent alarm goes off in both our heads when the point of no return is approaching. But that's the only thing that's unconventional. We've kept it from everyone, you sent your wife away on a bogus business trip. We get together every chance we get while it's safe before she comes home, and while I'm a willing participant. How long can we pretend."
Stefan is massaging Katherine's leg under the water.
S: "Maybe we don't have to pretend after all."
K: "I don't need your promises. Especially if you can't keep them. But I will never forget tonight."
Stefan kisses her again until she breaks it off.
K: "We should go....Nikolas will be waiting."
Stefan looks frustrated and will probably need a couple minutes before he'll get out of the pool.

Stefan and Katherine arrive back at her penthouse.
K: "Would you mind turning up the heat a little bit?"
S: "Can I get you a blanket, sweater, anything?"
K: "No, no I'm perfectly all right."
S: "Can I get you anything at all?"
K: "No, I'm fine thank you."
S: "I don't want to leave."
K: "And if you don't? What then? I think that we have carried this flirtation with disaster or whatever you want to call it as far as we can without.."
S: "Without what?"
K: "Without crossing the line. Without doing anything irrevocable. I think we've both been just testing, the word. Each wondering if the other feels the same way. All the signs seem to point to yes. So the question is what are we going to do with that information? What do we want to do? And I don't think we know."
S: "Speak for yourself."
K: "Your wife comes home soon."
S: "I'm well aware of that."
K: "Well if a mad fling was what we wanted don't you think we would have had it by now? It's like we're amateur thieves and we just picked the lock to the jewelry store. Now we're standing there wondering if we should rob the place."
S: "Well if a mad fling is what you thought I wanted. Then perhaps it's time to reassess my intentions." Stefan sits down.
K: "Your intentions are constantly on my mind."
S: "Why don't you ask me what they are?"
K: "Because I'm not sure I'd believe you. We don't really know each other even after all this. I mean we tell each other things that we don't tell anyone else, but when I hear you spoken about by the people who know you best. It always shocks me."
S: "Why is that?"
K: "That I could be so blind about you, and want it to stay that way. Before it was for selfish reasons. You were good for me. Good for my recovery and that's all that mattered. But now."
S: "And who are these people who know me best? I'm at a lost to think of anyone outside this room that fits that description."
K: "Your greatest ambition, your fondest hope. Since before I even knew you and maybe even now was to destroy Luke Spencer and his family. That's why I'm in this wheelchair right now. That's why we're in this room together right now. And I'm assuming that's why you married Bobbie Spencer. So a man who does that is one of two things. He can be monstrous and evil and selfish, and if that's the case I know exactly what your intentions are."
S: "And they would be?"
K: "To keep me quiet. The bullet that compacted my spinal nerves, only shot out of Luke Spencer's gun because you were trying to frame him. I say that and you go to prison. So naturally you would want to string me along, and keep me starry eyed and sympathetic."
Stefan rises angrily.
S: "Ah, now I hear it. You have been talking to Luke. You've been listening to Luke."
K: "I have been listening to everyone. Of course Luke would say I'm putting my life in danger by saying this to you."
S: "Well if I were the man he says I am. Then yes you would be."
K: "Well obviously I'd rather believe that you're not. And I think that there's another explanation. I'm no saint. I know that there's something to be said for the pleasures of getting even. This revenge you want on Luke seems never-ending. It could be that you feel morally entitled to it. Some overwhelming reason gives you every right. Maybe the pain Luke caused you is never-ending too."
S: "The man was directly responsible for the death of my father and my brother!"
K: "And I know there are two sides to every story! And you are smart enough to know that too! I've heard you speak about your father and your brother and you had no place for them in your life! In fact you only felt contempt for them."
Stefan shouting: "They were my family! Whatever I might have felt for them they had no right to die at the hands of that peasant!"
Kat shouting back: "Whatever you felt for them was not love! It was not enough to account for the endless hatred you have. Maybe Luke took away the only thing you truly love. It was Laura wasn't it?"
S: "Laura used Nikolas under the pretense of having gone to her grave unreconciled with him. You should know that as well as anyone."
K: "Were you in love with her?"
S: "Yes."
K: "For many years I gather?"
S: "I loved Laura more than anyone I ever loved in my life, but I allowed myself to see her as she preferred to see herself. As a hapless victim of circumstance. I excused her failings as she did but no more. After what her last escapade did to Nikolas, my eyes were opened, I feel nothing for her but loathing.."
Kat interrupts.
K: "Disgust? Hatred? I see and I understand, and I wonder if you understand too. Because if you feel any of those things for Laura, you are far from over her."
S: "I see you're in somewhat of a soothsaying mood again tonight. But this time you couldn't be more wrong. I'm completely over Laura Spencer."
K: "You think that you can control everything. You can make a whole town eat out of your hand. You can bring Luke Spencer's sister to her knees. You can make the woman that you paralyzed believe that you are her salvation. But you cannot make yourself feel the way that you want to, can you? And you hate that."
Stefan gets his coat.
S: "Nikolas will be waiting."
Kat turns her chair to face him before he leaves.
K: "There's something else you should know before you go. I am not afraid of you. When I am being entirely sensible I think I should at least be cautious. But when something happens to you like this and you're not sure if you're going to walk again. Or even if you want to live. A certain kind of fear just goes away."
S: "Given all the things you think I am. You are either very brave or very foolish."
K: "Maybe I'm both. Goodnight."
Stefan leaves. Within and without the door both participants seem shaken and saddened.
Nikolas shows up at Kat's.
K: "Why didn't you use your key?"
N: "Well last time you were busy. I didn't want to barge in." His eyes scan the joint.
K: "Just trying to walk again."
N: "Oh was that what you were doing?"
K: "You mean when Stefan was here?"
N: "Yeah."
K: "Well you certainly weren't barging in on anyone."
N: "Oh, I wasn't sure. Is, is he here now?"
K: "No he's not."
N: "Was he here earlier?"
Kat flashes back to the kiss in the pool. She says nothing but her eyes answer the question.

Stefan walks up the stairs at the dock at Wyndemere. Luke is there smoking a stogie.
L: "How was your swim?"
S: "I beg your pardon."
L: "Your swim with Tinkerbell."
S: "We have a legal agreement you're to stay off my island."
L: "I'll be brief. I know where you were, I know who you were with, I know what you were doin' and for how long. You didn't know you were under surveillance. You're slipping Stefan."
S: "What is your point Spencer?"
L: "I'm pointing out that you're off your game. See that happens when you fall in love. Particularly with someone that you crippled, must be complicated, and then on top of that she's lost her mind. Uh, I mean her memory. You have to stick close in case she decides to get it back."
S: "Well you seem awfully pleased with yourself. Have you come up with another really good plan? Other than playing dead that is."
L: "You bought it. But then your easy aren't ya? You're the inept Cassadine, next to Stavros you don't measure up."
S: "You don't mention his name! Stavros is dead because of you, I however am still here."
L: "Right, and he must be spinning like a souvlaki on a spit in his grave with what you've done to the legacy of the family. Your family n-n-n-nearly froze the world and you can't find the air conditioner."
S: "I don't have time for this nonsense."
L: "It's over Stefan. All that happens now is Bobbie finds out about your underwater antics, and you're making such a pathetic ass of yourself I'm not even going to have to tell her. She probably all ready knows."
S: "If in fact you had me followed you all ready know nothing went on that Barbara couldn't know about. Unlike you and Laura, my wife and I don't keep secrets from one another."
L: "Oh, now the stakes in my heart, and after Blondie made such a gut wrenching appeal for us all to get along."
S: "What do you want?"
L: "I think I'm here to pick a fight."

The penthouse. Nik and Kat talking.
K: "He was here earlier this evening."
N: "I came by."
K: "Well you should have left a note. But I'm glad you came back."
N: "You canceled your physical therapy appointment and he wasn't around all day, I thought that..I don't know what I thought."
K: "Nikolas I think you know exactly what you thought and I'd like to hear it."
N: "I just wondered if it was more than a coincidence."
K: "You sound like you all ready answered that."
N: "I'm sorry if it came out that way but.."
K: "Could you sit down. Let's sit down."
Nikolas sighs and sits on the couch.
N: "I'm not doin' this very well. OK my uncle has many aspects of our family that he has to oversee."
K: "I understand that."
N: "And when it comes to those priorities he has to maintain a certain focus. But when it comes to you he sometimes loses that focus."
K: "Well I'm flattered but I don't believe you can say I'm one of Stefan's priorities. I mean you can't even say that he's more than a caring friend, that would be overstating the situation."
N: "I guess, I guess I'm not sure."
K: "Well I am. Nikolas your uncle has been very kind and generous to me during this whole ordeal, but so have a lot of other people. Mac, Miranda, Tony, Carly, you. OK I will admit that your uncle has the resources of General Hospital to draw on. He has taken the, I don't know the complications out of getting the rehab equipment here and finding me the best at home care. And he did happen to be here when I took those first steps. So that did create sort of a certain kind of bond, and I guess in a way I have been using him. In a nice way I hope. I mean just the little things that he does, that probably mean nothing to him. Have given me strength and made me believe that I will walk again, and I know that's very selfish of me but I need that."
N: "Ok, ok, ok here's the thing see, sometimes he loses the forest for the trees. He takes on all these responsibilities even when he shouldn't. It's a bad habit for anyone to get in and can be disastrous for a man in his position. I just don't want to see him get embarrassed."
K: "Embarrassed?"
N: "Yeah, by making an error in judgment. Just because he wasn't paying attention. So from now on in terms of your rehabilitation and the role my family plays in it, I think it's best you deal with me and not him."
K: "Are you suggesting I not see Stefan anymore?"
N: "I'm not telling you what to do."
K: "That's exactly what you're doing."
N: "I think it's the amount of time or the kind of support that bothers me."
K: "Nikolas you are very dear to me and I would hope that you wouldn't feel devalued because other people are helping me."
N: "Yeah I know, but we're talking about my uncle in particular here."
K: "I understand that. OK listen my friendship with you and my friendship with your uncle are very different. But I count on them both and I really feel put on the spot that you have taken it upon yourself to tell me what I should do and what I should feel."
N: "Alexis agrees with me."
K: "Is that so? Have either of you told Stefan this?"
N: "No, because he would just say we were overreacting and get mad."
K: "Maybe he'd be right."
N: "Katherine this, this connection you're talking about is because he feels guilty that's all."
K: "You know I'm sorry to say this but maybe your and Alexis' imaginations have run out of control?"
N: "You think Bobbie would see it that way? He's married Katherine and he's spending all this time with you because you need help, but it would be easy for someone to get the wrong impression. You deserve a man who wants you not because of this accident but because of who you are. Someone of your own and he will never be that, he can't."

Wyndemere dock: Stefan and Luke.
Stefan: "If you continue this harassment I'll have Alexis serve you with a restraining order of broader dimension. Perhaps an ankle bracelet to monitor your whereabouts."
Luke: "Alexis. Now there is a competent woman. A formidable opponent. There hasn't been anybody at the helm of the Cassadine ship like that since Helena took sick and went underground. Yes Alexis has got what it takes Stefan. She's cool, she's intellectual, she's got that burning ambition. I'd watch out for her if I were you, she's got her eye on the control board and this would be a very good time to strike. With both you and your nephew distracted by Katherine Bells charms. Don't you think you boys should splash around in a bigger gene pool?"
S: " Nikolas' interest in Katherine Bell is admirable, selfless. I will not allow you to cheapen it with this gutter talk."
L: "His hormones aren't admirable and selfless and I bet they're slappin' the kid around pretty good by now. It's terrible when everybody in your family gets a mind of their own isn't it? I know. At least right now Alexis is using her mind to cover your butt."
S: "You're pathetic Spencer. You know since your wife left, you're like a clown without a circus. You serve no purpose."
L: "I help others feel superior. Alexis came to see me today about Lesley, I figured she didn't tell you. It seems my mother in law and your nephew are pen pals. And Alexis doesn't like that, she wants me to put a stop to it. Of course I can't interfere, I wouldn't do that. Especially after you've made it very clear that Nikolas is such a sensitive soul and how desperate he is to connect with certain members of my family. It is really pathetic the way he is trying to buy sibling affection. With all that crap, well like that egg."
S: "Egg?"
L: "Yeah the egg. That useless Faberge thing LuLu uses as a rattle. Didn't Nikolas tell you he passed on the heirloom?"
L: "A base with 3 gold legs, it's about 8 inches tall. It has two gold bands around the center with black stones. It's purple and on top it has a gemstone flower. Sound familiar?"
S: "I do hope she's enjoying it."
L: "Do you? Could it be that little Nikky ruined your plans to bestow the bauble on Blondie. I hear she goes for that kind of thing."

Kat's place: Nik is there with her.
K: "Nikolas I don't know how else to put this so please take it in it's context. I know my place and it is not in the middle of your family's affairs (bad choice of words) and I am well aware of the fact that Stefan is married."
N: "What if he weren't?"
K: "I won't answer that and it's rude of you to ask!"
N: "Why?"
K: "Because you have no right!"
N: "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you."
K: "I'm fine."
N: "If he even knew I was talking to you about this."
K: "Nikolas we are very good friends and I would never do anything to jeopardize that."
N: "I can be more than your friend."

Wyndemere dock: Stefan takes out his cell phone.
S: "I should have never listened to your mindless blather for one instant. I'm calling security, and I intend to report your arrogant disregard of the court order."
L: "Yeah yeah yeah yeah, they'll warn me not to do it again, I'll swear that I won't and you'll be right back where you started. Don't bother to call the dogs I all ready poisoned 'em. Just kidding, oh when my sister gets back be sure to say hi."
Luke starts to leave and says to himself.
"Ain't gonna be there buddy boy. Taxi."
Stefan waits until Luke is gone then rushes up the steps to Wyndemere.

At Kat's place Nik tries to explain he only means as a coach to help Kat walk again and tells her how great Bobbie is. Finally he leaves.

Wyndemere: Stefan runs to his safe and opens it retrieving a Faberge egg. He studies it and discovers it's a fake. He heaves it at the wall narrowly missing Bobbie who is just entering the door on her return.

Bobbie starts to pick up the pieces.
S: "I wasn't expecting you. You should have called."
B: "Stefan what's going on?"
S: "Nothing everything’s all right please, please."
B: "No it's not. You ruined this."
S: "That, that is worthless. Just leave it let the servants clean it up please."
B: "You're scaring me."
S: "Barbara leave me."
B: "No I won't."
S: "I said go!" In a shout.

**A synopsis, then skipping ahead to Kat and Stefan: Stefan bawls out Nik aboutgiving the egg to Lulu, Nik is a brat. Stefan tells Alexis that Luke has the Faberge egg.

Katherine is lifting weights in the physical therapy room.
K: "Don't say a word before I do. As of now Stefan it's over."
S: "Are you saying it's over because Barbara came home early?"
K: "Early or late what difference does it make? We both knew that you had a wife and that you have Nikolas and that he loves Bobbie and he needs his family."
S: "Yes he does."
K: "You know that Nikolas came to see me yesterday? He was trying to express his concern about our connection. He couldn't say affair but that's what he meant. I couldn't lie to him outright so I talked in circles and I told him half truths, but I could tell by the look on his face he knew exactly what I was doing. He is a beautiful caring boy who has had too many losses all ready. I've allowed him to care for me, inappropriately maybe and I won't be responsible for him losing what security he has."
S: "Nor will I."
K: "Then do me one final favor. And walk out that door now because I can't. I'll just have to sit here look like nothings wrong."

Kat calls across the room for Carly as Stefan sadly leaves.

Carly starts doing leg stretches on Kat who groans.
C: "Sorry did I hurt you?"
K: "No. I've done it all to myself."

Barbara questions Alexis about why Stefan is so freaked out about the egg and everything in general. Alexis tries to explain it's about family history and such. Bobbie doesn't buy it.

Later Stefan meets with Alexis.
S: "Have you found Nikolas?"
A: "No, but Bobbie found me and she asked some very pointed questions about the egg and you. Luckily Ned interrupted us but I'm going to need some answers for her the next time."
S: "No you won't. I will handle my wife and everything else from here on in. You've had too much responsibility while I've been distracted. No more."
A: "Forgive me for being redundant but you've said that before."
S: "Not from this vantage point. From now on I will make all the decisions, you concentrate on the business of this hospital."
A: "What about Katherine."
S: "I don't give a damn about anything but getting that egg back from Spencer. I will do it quickly and cleanly and then continue the agenda."

Kat is overdoing it in physical therapy. Carly tries to get her to calm down.
C: "Can I just ask you did something happen? What has gotten you all riled up?"
K: "I was shot, but I am going to get over this. Me, I'm the only one who can make that happen no one else." She starts lifting the weights again.

Stefan gets his burglary kit out of the safe at Wyndemere. Nik questions Stefan about Kat and Bobbie in a snotty manner. Stefan isn't so placating.

Bobbie having seen Stefan and Kat exchange another tension filled glance at GH, shows up at Kat's penthouse.
B: "Well I'm sure you're wondering why I would turn up at your doorstep at this hour."
K: "No. Unless it really is hospital business."
B: "No. I'm here because I think I have a right to know what's going on between you and my husband."
K: "I work with Stefan at the hospital now, but I guess we all work together."
B: "I wouldn't say that. I really don't have that much to do with publicity and I'm not sure your relationship with Stefan does either."
K: "Bobbie whatever you're accusing me of just say it."
B: "Is it so hard for you to answer a simple question?"
K: "I thought I did."
B: "You haven't changed."
K: "I didn't know I was supposed to."
B: "You're not going to tell me a thing are you?"
K: "Bobbie whatever you are thinking, don't. I am no threat."
B: "What is that supposed to mean?"
K: "It means you have nothing to worry about. Whatever vows your husband made are in tact. I appreciate his kindness to a pitiful invalid in a wheelchair, but he has never given me anything more. There is that enough? Can we stop before we completely humiliate ourselves?"
Bobbie silently leaves.

Stefan breaks into the Spencer home. (Foster isn't there. Luke set up a party at his club as part of a plan to trap Stefan.) Nikolas goes to Kat's (Just walking in as usual) and finds Bobbies scarf. He asks a lot of questions that are none of his business. Katherine cries after he leaves. Stefan cracks the safe, it's empty. On the table are letters to Luke from Laura. Stefan opens them and also finds photographs of Lesley and LuLu.
S: "My love always Laura. Usual drivel. And just two weeks ago. How charming using Lesley Lu as the cheese."
Luke watches from the bushes in a ridiculous outfit as Stefan leaves.

Wyndemere: Stefan is talking to Alexis.
S: "The Faberge egg is in Switzerland with Laura and her mother. At least it was two weeks ago."
A: "What is it doing there?"
S: "Well Nikolas gave it to his little sister. I assume she's become attached to it."
A: "They let a child play with a Faberge egg?"
S: "She can chew the diamonds off we don't care. It's what's inside which is of value to us."
A: "Yeah, well maybe to Luke too which is why he sent it with them over there."
S: "I hardly think so."
A: "Then can you explain to me why he hasn't sold it to a museum or a gallery for a fortune? That would be logical."
S: "No that wouldn't be logical for Spencer, because all selling it would get him is Cassadine money which he would rather die than touch. And even if does suspect something it takes two medallions to open it. Laura has only one."
A: "Wait a minute. How are you so sure this is in Switzerland?"
S: "There was a photograph of it in the child’s hands taken only two weeks ago."
Alexis gives him a 'how do you know look.' Stefan rises from the couch.
S: "Well Spencer was otherwise engaged this evening so I went over to his house and I looked for the egg. Instead I found the photograph, it was enclosed in a letter from Laura."
A: "Why would she take a photograph of her daughter holding that egg?"
S: "Especially something Nikolas had given. Luke despises him."
Alexis rises from the couch also.
A: "Do you think it could have been left there deliberately for you to find?"
S: "Well the thought had crossed my mind. I think it's a very remote possibility. Either way I have no choice but to go there and get it back."
A: "Well you be careful because if they know something or their guessing. Their testing you to see what you're going to do. They'll be there ready for you, Laura will be waiting."
S: "And that my dear cousin is the source of my good cheer. Laura may or may not be surprised to see me. She may or may not be participating in her husbands latest scheme. It's immaterial, she'll promise to do what Luke wants but ultimately I'll be the one she'll obey."

Alexis and Stefan.
A: "Laura Spencer hates you."
Stefan just shrugs nonchalantly.
A: "Oh, then I see how that's irrelevant. She's going to betray her husband for a man she despises?"
S: "Yes."
A: "How are you so sure Laura is going to do exactly what you want her to do?"
S: "Trust me."
A: "It would be nice if you trusted me."
S: "Oh I do or you wouldn't be here."
A: "One thing everybody knows about Laura is she is unswervingly loyal to her husband. So you're just going to demand that she hand over the Faberge egg to you and she's going to do it. Do you know something I don't?"
S: "Alexis if Laura has the object in question she'll give it to me. If she doesn't she'll tell me where it is."
Stefan pours a drink for himself and Alexis.
A: "You're not going to give me a straight answer are you?"
S: "I just did."
Stefan clinks the glasses in a toast.
A: "Do you think the Spencers have any idea what they have? Is there a remote possibility that they know what's inside that egg?"
S: "No none. Not unless they found a way to open it and that's not possible. No one can do it alone, not you, not me. That was the purpose of constructing it like a safe deposit vault. It takes two family members each with a key so that one individual won't have all the responsibility of unleashing such a powerful option."
A: "Well I for one would be a lot more comfortable if Laura didn't have a medallion."
S: "It was Stavros' gift to her when they married. She has no way of knowing that it unlocks the base of the egg. Let alone that the virus has been stored there for the last year. None of the Spencers could possibly know the value of that heirloom."

Miranda visits Kat at the GH physical therapy room telling her Jax wants her to leave town.

Back at Wyndemere. Alexis is on the phone.
A: "How soon can you get a jet to leave for Switzerland? Mr. Cassadine wants to leave as soon as possible." Stefan walks in.
S: "Alexis I won't be leaving right away."
A: "I'm going to have to get back to you Captain. Thank you." She hangs up.
A: "What's the problem?"
S: "Well if I'm correct and the Spencers don't know what they're in possession of. 24 hours isn't going to make a difference."
A: "So why wait?"
S: "Well I want it to appear as if I'm traveling to Europe on business and incidentally decided to retrieve a family treasure Nikolas rashly but innocently gave away. I don't want Luke to think he goaded me into rushing off and I don't want to alarm Barbara."
A: Well all right you need to stay calm and I'm not going to be able to take a full breath until you are safely back with your cargo from Switzerland."
Bobbie comes home she has laryngitis. Nik comes in unfortunately he doesn't.(That was a Todd note LOL).

Sadly Kat was pretty much backburned during the computer chip/virus/faberge egg story. Noteworthy- Miranda came by Kat's to tell her she's leaving PC because Jax doesn't want her. Bummer-further isolated Kat.

Meanwhile Stefan and Alexis arrive at the airport.
Desk clerk: "Good afternoon Mr. Cassadine, Ms. Davis. Shall I tell the pilot to prepare for takeoff?"
S: "Yes. I'll be on board momentarily."
A: "Well good luck with everything and call me if you need me." Alexis starts to walk away.
S: "I do need something from you Alexis, and I'll expect you to give it to me."
Their facial exchange in the above scene was great.
They walk over to the lounge seats.
S: "Now as soon as I retrieve the Faberge egg from Laura, I'll need to verify that the computer chip is on the inside. As you know it requires two medallions to open the egg, I have only one."
A: "I always assumed you would get Laura to give you hers."
S: "I could but I would prefer Laura had no knowledge of it's practical use."
A: "So how are you going to get the egg open?" She pauses momentarily as she thinks about it and Stefan stares at her. "No I can't sorry."
S: "I'll guard it with my life."
A: "You know giving this medallion to anyone is strictly a no-no that has been drilled into our heads since we were children."
S: "Yes I'm aware but this matter transcends even family law we're in a crisis Alexis. That calls for sacrifice from everyone."
Alexis pulls out the medallion and looks at it.
A: "You know I've never been without it." She looks at Stefan and thinks about it, but you can tell she'll say yes.

Kat's penthouse. Miranda is saying goodbye.
K: "We have both gone after the wrong man and lost, but that doesn't mean you have to uproot your life."
M: "Katherine, you're assuming that I have a life to uproot."
K: "If you don't have one you can build one."
M: "I don't have the energy. Not now."
K: "Well I can't just let you flit off into the night because Jasper Jax has lousy taste in women. You are a smart and beautiful woman who can do anything you want."
M: "Anything but watch Jax love another woman."
K: "Well moving on doesn't have to mean running away. If anyone should leave town it should be him."
M: "Right. Coming to Port Charles was a mistake from the beginning and staying here is only going to make it worse."
K: "Have you told Mac?"
M: "No."
K: "He'll be devastated."
M: "I don't think so."
K: "He cares about you. Probably more than he says."
M: "Mac cares about a memory. That doesn't apply anymore and besides I'm afraid if he knew how selfish I've been."
K: "Would you stop it. Selfish is not a dirty word, you wanted something and you went after it."
M: "Yes, in the worse way possible by lying and scheming and even being cruel."
K: "That's Jax telling you that isn't it?"
M: "Katherine it's the truth."
K: "Maybe to him, but not to me. You have been the kindest and nicest person I have ever met."
Miranda mouths the word 'Thank you' trying not to cry.
M: "You're a good friend Katherine."
K: "Do you want to hear a real example of selfish? I know in my heart leaving Port Charles is probably the best thing you can do, for you. But I don't want you to go."
Miranda went.
The airport.
The desk clerk walks up "We've been cleared for takeoff sir, whenever you're ready." He walks back.
Stefan and Alexis at airport.
S: "Thank you. I have to go."
A: "Then I guess you'll need this."
S: "You're aware of the rules against removing it."
A: "Yep."
S: "Then why do it?"
A: "Because you asked me too."
S: "Which means more to you than your loyalty to the family?"
A: "Mm Hmm." She starts to remove the medallion. Stefan takes her hand and stops her.
S: "Leave the medallion where it is. I'll see you in a few days."
Stefan rises to leave and Alexis pulls him back down by the wrist.
A: "This was a test wasn't it?"
S: "We're a powerful team Alexis, and when I return with what is rightfully ours. The world will see the absolute magnitude of that power."
He kisses her hand and leaves.

Stefan is next seen walking through the snow and walking on a door. Laura answers.
L: "Stefan?"
S: "You don't seem very surprised to see me." As he enters the chalet.
L: "Why are you here?"
S: "I've come to collect what belongs to me."

Luke comes in from a back room. (Uh oh. Now have two L's. Luke will be LK.)
LK: "That wouldn't be my wife, so exactly what the hell do you want Cassadine."
After the commercials.
LK: "You look a little surprised. You're not up on modern transportation? Ever hear of the Concorde? When you get to Chuck DeGaulle airport, a little puddle jumper and I'm here to roll out the frayed carpet."
S: "You never know when to quit do you Spencer?"
LK: "I think you were about to tell my wife that we have something that belongs to you?"
S: "I'm in no mood to play games, just give me the egg and I'll be on my way."
LK: "Egg? What egg? Are you talking about that ugly Chopsky that Nikky gave LuLu?"
S: "It was given inappropriately. It belongs with the Cassadines."
LK: "I don't think LuLu would agree. She's grown rather attached to it."
S: "I'm not leaving here without it. Bring it to me Lasha."
L: "I don't have it."
LK: "Lasha can't help you. You have to come to me." Luke gets the egg from a cabinet.
S: "Give it to me."
LK: "No please? Not very polite."
S: "Now you're beginning to try my patience."
LK: "Well we don't want to do that. So why don't you tell me what's in this damn thing and maybe I'll give it to you."
S: "Tell your husband to stop this foolishness."
LK: "Why do you keep crying to her. She can't help you."
S: "Relinquish it or I promise you life as you know it is over."
LK: "Oh you Greco-Ruskies are so dramatic."
L: "Luke maybe we should do what he says. The egg doesn't mean much to us anyway. LuLu will never really know it's gone."
LK: "Honey I'm surprised at you, Where's your sense of curiosity?"
L: "He's never going to tell us the truth anyway. Just give it back to him, the sooner he's gone the better."
LK: "Baby, he broke into our house looking for this thing. When it wasn't there he hopped a plane and came here. Now I want to know why."
L: "Who cares?"
LK: "All right I'll tell you what, since my wife feels so strongly about this. You tell me what's inside and I won't get rid of this thing. That's my final offer."
S: "It won't be possible for you to get rid of that thing while I'm standing here."
LK: "No?" Luke steps outside
L: "No Luke don't do it."
LK: "It's about a two-hundred foot drop down there. You may find this next summer when it thaws."
Stefan pulls a gun on him.
S: "Now I deeply regret having to resort to such vile measures. Certainly you know how fast a bullet travels Luke? I would venture a guess that before you could throw it, I could put a bullet between your eyes."
LK: "You want to go head to head? You want to see whose nerves are steadier?"
L: "Luke stop it he's got a gun."
LK: "I see that honey. You think it's loaded?"
L: "Stop baiting him."
LK: "He won't shoot me. He only shoots women."
S: "I'm going to count to ten."
Luke draws his own gun. (I would venture a guess a bullet would travel a lot faster than that. Well it is a soap.)
LK: "By the time you hit three you're a dead man. You want to play chicken over this egg?"
L: "Luke don't do this please."
LK: "What do say Cassadine. Do you want to tell me what's in this or do you want to see whose bullet is faster?"
S: "You are both making a grave mistake here."
L: "Both of you put the guns down now."
LK: "Laura go inside."
L: "Luke if you don't care about yourself, think about the kids. If you kill him you'll wind up in jail for the rest of your life."
LK: "I don't think so. Now go back inside."
L: "No I'm not leaving until you put these guns..." Laura steps outside. Luke goes to move her back. Stefan cold cocks Luke. Stefan gets the egg.
L: "Luke, Luke are you all right. Damn you!"
S: "Why? I just saved your marriage."
L: "Take your damn priceless heirloom and get out of here."
S: "We both know there are certain boundaries that can't be crossed. It would be in your best interest to remember that."
Luke wakes up with a headache, but is glad it lent some 'realism' to the situation.

On the way down the mountain, Stefan running knocks somebody in a ski mask off the side of the mountain. Luke saves him.

Stefan boards his plane with the Faberge egg. Mid-flight the steward asks if Stefan needs anything. Stefan replies he has what he needs. Kat gets a boring visit from Mac.

Stefan imagines Katherine on the plane. She sits on his lap.
K: "It's happening." They kiss.
S: "So it seems."
K: "Tell me again about the curved beach and the moon that you can see during the daytime. And the men fishing for our lunch." (She's lookin' good)
S: "It's all true. It's all happening on a beautiful Aegean island. A distant one, where no one uses a surname. So I won't need mine."
K: "You want to know the truth?"
S: "Always."
K: "I didn't think you could do it."
S: "Do what?"
K: "Give up being a Cassadine. Get free."
Katherine vanishes. (Todd note:)Stefan didn't even imagine a mile high club scene. He needs work on his fantasies.

(Yikes! A plethora of bad stories.)

Stefan came home with the egg. Told Bobbie some lies about his earlier lies so she jumped his bones. Nik thought he was Bruce Lee as he tried to fight Stefan. Stefan thought he was Mr. Spock as he put Nik in some kind of Vulcan death grip. Nik ran away again, all the way to Kat's where he whined about what a meanie Stefan is.

Doc. Tony was slobbering over Carly when Stefan and Bobbie walked in to confront him about suing for custody of Lucas. Carly looked guilty but Stefan was the only one who managed to notice.

Kat tells Nik that Stefan was the one who shot her.
Nik contradicts himself by blasting Stefan to Kat for not spending time with her anymore.
This after blasting him for spending time with her. He also whines about being pushed off a cliff.
The shooting conversation: (Nik and Katherine)
K: "Then find out what really happened. You're judging him without a trial and that's a very high horse to fall from. Accidents happen Nikolas and if anyone knows that it's me.
Your Uncle does have a conscience, I've seen it he was so sorry when he..when he..after he..." (Oooops)
N: "After he what?"
K: "After he found me on his property he was very kind to me."
N: "My God. He did it, my Uncle shot you. My Uncle shot you, that's what you're saying isn't it?"
K: "I'm telling you what I know about Stefan. Inside."
N: "Katherine since I met you, from that very first hour you told me the truth when nobody else would. That's why I come here everyday. (Yeah and I was the first man on the moon.) That's why I think of you as somebody I can't be without and if you lie to me now. That's all gone, so is my Uncle. It's not Luke Spencer who put you in the wheelchair was it? Oh my God."
K: "I'm sorry, you're the one I never wanted to know."
N: "And you've been keeping this to yourself all along?"
K: "No, I didn't remember. That was the truth at first."
N: "Then what? When my Uncle walked into your hospital room.."
K: "No, not even then. I mean there was something I recognized right away but it wasn't a memory, it was something else."
N: "What? Go on."
K: "He was a lifeline, I only knew he wanted so much for me to recover. This stranger, that even when I didn't care what happened to me gave me strength. So I asked him to come back, and to keep coming back night after night. He spent so much time in that room with me. Much more time than you or anyone else suspected, but it was at my request because I needed him and for no other reason."
N: "Guilt might've had something to do with it."
K: "Maybe, maybe that's all it was."
N: "When? When did you remember him pulling the trigger?"
K: "When he confessed, when he told me all about it. The how and why, he said he'd even go to the police and tell them if that's what I wanted."
N: "Was this before or after Luke Spencer was arrested and brought back into town?"
K: "It wasn't like that Nikolas, it was not calculated. I could have had him sent to prison. I could've had him deported."
N: "Unless somehow he knew you wouldn't."
K: "How? I didn't even know myself."
N: "Did he threaten you?"
K: "With what? I was all ready paralyzed."
N: "Did he beg you? For my sake?"
K: "Your Uncle does not beg. I think you know that as well as I do. The shooting was accidental, I'm not saying it was entirely innocent, but it was not intended and I know that as well as I know my own name. Stefan never asked me to keep it quiet that was my decision."
N: "To protect him?"
K: "And you."
K: "Stefan did put me in that wheelchair, but since then he has been the cause of so much hope and so much healing. He may seem controlled and calculated, but I think you know as well as I do that he will pursue an impulse to be kind or generous with the same determination as any goal he sets for himself. He's trying to make amends with me and I'm letting him. Is that so terrible? What? Either you understand me or you don't."
N: "Does it strike you that your logic is a little tortured? My Uncle shot you yet it's all right because he's been nice about it and he hasn't done it again since."
K: "I guess it's easy enough to mock me."
N: "I'm not mocking you Katherine. I'm listening and nothing I hear makes any logical sense of why you're protecting him. Why you're defending him."
K: "I'm sorry then. I must not be explaining myself well."
N: "Or you're leaving something out."
K: "Such as? Why don't you tell me since you all ready seem to know what it is?"
N: "All right. Well just for some incomprehensible reason you're in love with the man who shot you. Makes no sense on it's own but makes sense for the rest. Is that what you're not telling me Katherine?"
K: "I am not having an affair with your Uncle. You believe me."
N: "The question you are answering is not the one I asked."
K: "Am I in love with Stefan? I think I love him the way you do. I don't understand it, I don't always like it but I don't seem to have a choice."
N: "But you do have a choice! And so do I. Does he come here anymore?"
K: "No not for some time."
N: "Is this something you both agreed on?"
K: "It's just the way it has to be. He has a wife, I'm not implying that's an obstacle or a burden. Being married to Bobbie is what he wants obviously. It's how his life works."
N: "What about your life Katherine?"
K: "Sorting it out like the rest of the planet."
N: "Yeah alone and in a wheelchair, but you don't hate him for that?"
K: "I am nobody’s dupe Nikolas. I made my own decisions along the way too and I don't regret them. What are you suggesting anyway? That I humiliate him in public? That I send him to prison? That I try to get even if I can? You are starting to sound like one of those other nameless Cassadines that you feel so superior to. You know that power you felt your Uncle was exerting over me? You have that power now. You can go to Bobbie, you can go to the police and you can go to Luke. Or you can go home and go to bed and you can get up in the morning and have breakfast with your family like you do every single morning. What's it going to be Nikolas?"
N: "I gather what you want me to do is make a promise?"
K: "Yes."
N: "Did you give my Uncle one? Did you swear that you would take his secret to the grave?"
K: "No it's not his secret, it's mine. It happened to me and I think I should hold the key to it. Are you prepared for what will happen if you tell a single soul? If it gets back to Luke?
All of your Uncles assets in this country will probably be frozen, if he isn't deported you will be while he's held here for trial. And if Bobbie finds out how will she feel? Will it finally convince her that Luke was always right about all of you? Or will she just disappear from your life all together? And if you tell no one else but Stefan, you have to know that it will change your relationship forever. Can you ever trust him again or will you always feel like you're being handled? Will he interpret every sharp look from you as some sort of threat? If you really want to hurt him this is definitely the way to do it. Just tell him what you know and watch it destroy him from the inside."
Nik starts to leave and Kat stops him. (Damn)
K: "Whatever else you feel for him, you have to know that he prizes your love and respect more than anything."
N: "How can I love and respect somebody I don't even know Katherine?"
K: "Oh you know him, he's just disappointed you. We all do it, you'll do it."
N: "For now, for you I'll make that promise."
K: "Thank you."
N: "But I reserve the right to change my mind if I want too. Everything always works out for my Uncle doesn't it?"
Judge Judy- I mean Nik finally leaves.
K: "Not everything."

Kat is talking to Doc. Tony in the nurses station when Stefan and Bobbie show up. Bobbie serves Tony with custody papers and they argue. Meanwhile Stefan and Katherine can't keep their eyes off each other, which Bobbie notices.
Later Stefan goes into the physical therapy room to talk with Kat.
S: "How are you?"
K: "Well. Thank you for asking. Gets easier every day."
S: "I'm sorry I haven't been in touch."
K: "Why that was the agreement."
S: "Well I don't want you to think I'm not concerned about your progress."
K: "I know you're busy. Especially now that Bobbie is suing for custody of her son. A united home front is what they want to see. What we all want to see. If you'll excuse me I need to get ready for my physical therapy."
Stefan takes a seat instead.
S: "Well actually I have a few minutes free. I could help you with some of the exercises."
Bobbie is watching from the window pane in the door.
K: "I don't think that's a good idea. Thank you for the offer but I'm going to stick with my doctor's orders and not over do it. I'll just wait for my physical therapist."
S: "I hope you'll keep me apprised of your progress. It's a bit awkward for me to consult Tony about it now."
K: "Well I still work here remember. So I guess when you see me without the benefit of my wheels you'll know I'm cured, and that won't be long I guarantee it."
S: "I'll look forward to that day."
K: "And when it happens, you'll have had a lot to do with it.
S: "I sincerely hope that's true."
K: "You hauled me out of the dark and up to a place where I cared again. If you hadn't been there I don't know if I would have bothered to try. Now I've just got to keep moving forward and I can do that on my own."
S: "I have no doubt you can. I'm happy for you Katherine, I haven't stopped thinking about you."
K: "You should, there's really no reason for you to waste your concern. There are other people in your life who need it more. Like Lucas, when the grownups are busy being childish sometimes the real children get forgotten."
S: "Oh not Lucas, he's getting all the attention he needs."
K: "Is Nikolas? He doesn't look like a boy but he's not a man either. Take care of him Stefan, he needs more than you know."
Bobbie enters the room.
B: "There you are." (To Stefan).
B:(To Kat) "How are you? I hope you're satisfied with your progress."
K: "I can't be or I can't keep moving forward, but thank you for asking. And I hope whatever guilt over where this happened to me is over and done with. I'm getting back to my life and you two should do the same."
S: "That's very kind of you to say Katherine, be well."
K: "You too and thank you for all your support."
B: "Shall we?" She takes Stefan's hand and they exit.
Luke makes an appearance in the nurses station.
L: "Barbara I'm sorry about what happened."
S: "You know it's a bit late for your brotherly concern Spencer, but fortunately Barbara has another family to whom she can turn."
L: "Well that's a rosy picture. My sister all nestled down in the belly of the beast."
B: "Don't ok? Don't start with this now."
L: "Who did you lean on when Stefan and Nikolas were in Switzerland on the great Cassadine cook off."
S: "What are you talking about Nikolas had nothing to do with that."
L: "Oh was that clone who showed up after you were there? He didn't tell you? A close knit family like yours Stefan?"
S: "That's impossible. Nikolas was at home here with Barbara."
B: "Well you know I actually never saw him while you were away. I mean he told me he was at the library or the lake every single time I went looking for him. So I suppose it is entirely possible he left the country."
S: "Well if he did I assume he went to see the child."
L: "My child, maybe he was there to see his maternal grandmother. Remember her? Formally brilliant doctor now with a far away glazed look in her eye."
B: "All right Luke you made your point. If Nikolas was there I'm sure he has an entirely good explanation."

Lee Baldwin comes by and tells Stefan they have to discuss a board meeting.

Wyndemere. Nik and Stefan.
N: "Good morning."
S: "Where were you last night."
N: "Somewhere else."
S: "Doing what?"
N: "Sleeping."
S: "That's more than I can say."
N: "Why? If you were concerned there's no need to be as you can see."
Nikolas tries to go upstairs and Stefan stops him.
S: "If I have assign someone to watch you I will." Nikolas makes a 'Oh come on' face.
S:" Oh you feel you're above that do you?"
N: "That's right."
S: "You think you should be able to go wherever you please and answer to no one."
N: "That's what you do."
S: "Whether it's an all night coffee shop until 3:00 then a decrepit hotel for transients."
Nik gives a huh? look.
S: "Mm hmm or perhaps someplace much further than downtown. Switzerland for instance."
N: "Yeah that's right. Katherine is so quick to demand that her own secrets be kept, but apparently when it comes to me.."
S: "Luke Spencer told me. Yes, you can imagine his delight to find out you were safe at home."
N: "Well I wasn't at home, I wasn't even safe. What else did Luke tell you?"
S: "That the motive for your making the trip was the welfare of your sister and your grandmother. As I would harm a dim-witted old woman and a child of 3."
N: "Well wouldn't you? Haven't you?"
S: "Do you really think that of me Nikolas?"
N: "Look if Lesley Lu was holding your precious egg and wouldn't let go? And why do I keep calling it yours? That egg was mine and mine to give. Like most of what you consider your own."
S: "Do you have any idea the damage your interfering could have caused?"
N: "You're the one who interfered. The damage was done by you!"
S: "Damage to whom? To What?!"
N: "I saw you for what you really are."
S: "What Laura had you hidden somewhere? No I don't believe it."
N: "In your hurry to escape with my egg before Luke could get to his feet. You ran down the side of the mountain, another man (His opinion) was on his way up."
S: "What other man? What does this have to do with anything?"
N: "You pushed him aside, what does it matter he was no one. He fell off the side of that cliff for all you know or care."
S: "Nikolas."
N: "And you wouldn't, you wouldn't hurt a child? Then lets agree on something once and for all. I must not be one, because you would have killed me without a second thought. Right? He was in your way."
S: "I didn't know anyone had fallen."
N: "You wouldn't have done anything differently if you had. Other people are just obstacles unless you have some strategic use for them. Like you did my sister and grandmother. But there usefulness is done and there just obstacles too aren't they?
Just like me, but I'd rather be one of them then one of you."
S: "Nikolas it was one night, one careless moment. No I'm not excusing myself but one night out of a lifetime?"
N: "It wasn't a very exceptional night was it? That you did nothing you regret, that you haven't given even a second thought too until just now!" Stefan tries to touch his cheek, Nik pulls away.
S: "Nikolas whether you know it or not, whether you believe it or not. Each day I live, I live for you. That I could have done such a thing is unthinkable to me. Worse then unthinkable. But I can make it up to you Nikolas, you tell me, you tell me what to do. I'll do anything."
N: "Your guilt has the lifespan of a mosquito. Lot of good it's done Katherine Bell though."
S: "Meaning what? What is this about Katherine? Answer me."
Nikolas gives him a hate filled look and skulks away.
S: "What is this about Katherine? If you're trying to make some kind of statement Nikolas."
N: "I think I've made it."
S: "The shooting occurred on my island, naturally I felt responsible yes."
N: "You were directly responsible and you know it."
S: "How is that?"
Nik pauses: "If it weren't for your feud with the Spencer's she'd be as healthy and whole today as before that night. But she had the bad luck to get in the way just like I did."
S: "I see."
N: "No, no you don't. I'm through with choosing my words so carefully and I'm through with the Cassadine name, and I'm through with the Cassadine way and I'm through with our glorious traditions and I'm through with our superiority over everyone else in the world."
S: "You listen to me young man. You can renounce your family, you can trade away your name. But you can't change what you are, believe me I know."
N: "What I am is half Laura."
S: "That's not your fault."
N: "My fault? No actually it's been my salvation. You left me to die, do you even wonder why I survived?"

Bobbie magically appears in soap fashion in the hallway to overhear.

N: "I'll tell you. Luke Spencer saved my life."
Stefan laughs.
N: "He pulled me off the mountain after you threw me off it like yesterdays garbage."
S: "I didn't see you. Yes, yes it's true I was in a highly emotional state. But Luke Spencer was playing a sick game with something of immense value to our family. Now if you had seen him threatening to toss it off the side of a mountain you might understand."
N: "Understand what? That's it's more important than a man? More important than somebody you're supposed to love?"
S: "I didn't know it was you. It was an accident, it was a terrible error. Nikolas at least now I understand your anger and I can make it up to you."
N: "No there is no way to make this right. You can't fix it and you can't buy another chance. I will never forget the look on your face as you came towards me. I saw the real Stefan Cassadine and I hated him."

Nik runs away. Stefan talks about Nik. Kat talks about Nik. Luke and Laura talk about Nik.
Stefan and Alexis talk about Nik. Some gunman shoots up the hospital.

Finally! Here's a toast to Kat! YES! In the hospital physical therapy room. (Nik and Kat talking).
N: "He disgusts me. He's lucky I'm willing to be in the same room with him."
K: "The way you're behaving, I think you should consider yourself lucky he hasn't thrown you out on your adolescent bratty butt!"

Stefan and Alexis discuss the virus.
A: "Let's talk about business. As you know I am a very neat organized person and loose ends, dangling threads make me very, very uneasy. So I suggest we drop the dry runs on Guinea Pigs like Felicia and if you want to get serious do it. Now this intern terrorist who took the hostages was able to pull it off because he infected the GH computers. So if you want to introduce your virus into the hospital mainframe you might as well do it now."
S: "You're very astute Alexis. You just described my intentions precisely. This is the perfect time to implant and engage the virus."
A: "Fine."
S: "Yes I have given up Katherine and more but I don't intend to dwell on it."
A: "Now what?"
S: "I will transfer the virus to a disk activate it through my laptop, it will travel through the General Hospital mainframe and infect the entire system."
A: "Suddenly I'm feeling a little nervous."
S: "I'd be surprised if you weren't. Why don't you take a little break, get some fresh air. Meet me back here in 30 minutes."

Kat and Nik in the physical therapy room.
K: "Have you ever told your uncle you don't want it? For all your protests you're perfectly willing to let Stefan devote his life to you. And you certainly have enjoyed the perks of being a Cassadine heir haven't you?"
N: "Well before I knew who he really is and what he's capable of, but none of that means anything now. I was ready to leave for good. Go somewhere, anywhere where I could be anonymous."
K: "But you stayed here because of me. Out of pity?"
N: "No, no Katherine of course not. I hate my uncle for what he did to you and for what he did to me in Switzerland."
K: "They were both accidents. He was aiming at a tree, I walked into his sights."
N: "How do you know everything he's done since isn't just to keep you quiet?"
K: "For awhile I suspected that but I got over it. The man you are describing could have suffocated me in my sleep. He could have pushed my wheelchair down the stairs. At the very least he could have threatened retaliation if I gave him away. Instead he did everything he could to help me walk again. That sounds pretty darn ruthless to me."
N: "I guess I'm not as generous and forgiving as you are. I knew you and liked you before he did."
K: "You don't really know me. You have this idealized vision of this person that you want me to be. I'm not a saint Nikolas and I am sure there are plenty of upstanding citizens of Port Charles who would say I got exactly what I deserved."
K: "Did I tell you once I was married to Ned Ashton?"
N: "Yeah, yeah you did."
K: "And that I blackmailed him to go along with it? It didn't last very long but lets see what else?"
N: "You don't have to do this."
K: "I did trick A.J. Quartermaine into using grant money to buy a brothel and then I leaked the entire story to the media."
N: "You're not going to convince me that you're a terrible person ok?"
K: "I'm a lot nicer since I got rich. Did I ever tell you how I got my fortune? From my late boyfriend Damian Smith. He was notorious around these parts."
N: "Did you kill him?"
K: "No."
N: "My uncle could have easily killed you with that bullet. And I could have been a second victim when he pushed me off the side of a mountain."
K: "You know if he was as selfish and ruthless as you are painting him to be. Why didn't he just leave me to die when he accidentally shot me? I meant nothing to him then and he would have been better off if he had. Maybe you need to reexamine this case you have built against him. That maybe he isn't as terrible as you want to believe."
Alexis returns to Stefan's office.
Alexis nervously pulls up a chair at the desk.
S: "What is it Alexis?"
A: "I took a walk and all I could think about was one of these summers we spent together. You know the summer when I was sixteen years olds and we took the wildest horses out of the stables and just rode them into the hills. Do you remember that?"
S: "Yes I remember."
A: "We rode for hours and we didn't care where we were going. We didn't even know where we were going. It felt great and everything seemed possible."
S: "Why are you bringing this up now?"
A: "We don't have to go through with this you know? It's not too late for you to change your mind."
S: "Yes it is."
Stefan loads a disk into his laptop activating a boot virus.
After a bit Alexis anxiously looks at the computer.
A: "Well now we know the code must be faulty or degraded or caught in some endless subroutine loop."
S: "Do you realize how many harddrives and terminals there are in this hospital? The virus has to copy itself into each one, load itself into memory. Have a little patience."
A: "Well you know I was thinking we should really be taking more precautions. I mean wouldn't it be better if we did this at 4:00 in the morning?"
S: "With half the stations closed down. How instructive would that be? And how would we explain our being here?"
The computer screen reads 'Launching System Sleep.'
Stefan smiles, Alexis looks anxious.

Physical Therapy Room.
K: "He hurt you and you don't want to forgive him."
N: "You think he learned anything?"
K: "To teach him a lesson? To make punish him? Is that what you want? You feel the best way to do that is to pretend everything you ever knew about him was a lie? That this uncle who loved you and raised you was really a two headed monster?"
N: "You never talked down to me before Katherine. Please don't start now."
K: "I'm not. It's just that I know this impulse very well. I have been from one extreme to the other trying to figure out what I think about Stefan. It doesn't work because he is the best and the worst of everything we think he is. Most people are, are you ready to wash your hands of him because of that? Are you ready to walk away from the one person who would do anything in the world for you? That is a lot to lose."

A hospital dude walks in talking about a computer crisis.Stefan takes charge and plays savior of the day. Everyone, including Nikolas is grateful and impressed. Bobbie is suspicious though. She's in league with Luke again. Audrey Hardy is caught in surgery during the shutdown. Bobbie meets with Luke and they plan to bring Stefan down.

Dorman got murdered, Stefan suspects Alan or Monica. To Alexis:
S: "If you learn or even suspect that one of them did it. Give them my thanks, my congratulations and make sure we can hold it over there heads."
Alexis waits at the hospital for Stefan.
A: "We need to discuss Audrey Hardy."
S: "To what end? We made a calculated risk and it paid off."
A: "Barely it nearly cost the woman her life."
S: "I planned the test at a time when there was a minimal load of critical patients and there were no major surgeries scheduled that required the use of the computer. Now what happened to Audrey Hardy could have just have easily have happened at 3:00 A.M. If the computers had gone down at that hour the Cassadines..."
A: "I get the point, I get the point."
S: "But I see you're still not satisfied. Now what is it you need from me?"
A: "Reassurance."
S: "I did everything I could not to endanger the welfare of patients but with a project this complex there are always risks. I thought you understood that."
A: "I need to know that you're as disturbed about what happened as I am."
S: "Alexis if Tony Jones had been unable to operate without the computer and Audrey Hardy had suffered the consequences, I would feel tremendous guilt, in fact I feel guilt now for everything she's been through. But guilt is not regret, it had to be done."
A: "I'm in sync you understand but it's the little bumps in the road that keep tripping me up and make me yes question, what the hell we're doing."
S: "Alexis you knew from the outset that people might get hurt in spite of our precautions, yet you agreed it was worth it. Now have you changed your mind?"
A: "I need to see in your eyes that you still have a conscience."
Stefan looks at her.
S: "Do you see it?"
A: "I do."
S: "Good. I'll see you tomorrow."
Alexis kisses his cheek and leaves.

Luke sneaks into Wyndemere where he plots with Bobbie. They stage a fight when Stefan
returns home. Bobbie tries to seduce Stefan as part of the Spencer plan. Stefan doesn't seem too interested.
S: "You know I make it a point to avoid lovemaking in the conservatory."

As Jax calls to offer to sponsor the nurses ball, Bobbie steals a key from Stefan's coat.
Nik hangs around Kat like glue. She manages a step after a visit from Jax. She asks Nikolas
to keep it a secret from Stefan. Bobbie manages to crack into Stefan's computer with the password Island. (Stupid beyond words.)

Pool Transcript Part 2-**Transcribed by Ashley

(Audrey is in a hospital bed, Katherine wheels in for the Public Relations report...)
Amy Vining: "...You should just lay back and let everybody fall all over you. Including Stefan Cassadine." (At the mention of Stefan's name, Katherine gets a look on her face.)
Audrey Hardy: "Oh, is Stefan coming?"
Amy Vining "Well, that was the unofficial rumor from his secretary."
Kat: "You know, I don't want to disturb you any longer. I'll get back to you about those PR reports after you've had some rest. Nice meeting
you. (To Sara)"
Sara Webber: "You too."
(As Katherine is leaving, Stefan comes in at the same time. Stefan and Katherine share a look.)

Stefan (obviously trying to ignore Katherine): "Audrey, these are for you.
Audrey H: "Oh, they're lovely, thank you, Stefan."
Stefan: "Please read the card."
Audrey Hardy: "Oh, Sara, would you? This is my granddaughter Sara Webber. Sara,
this is Stefan Cassadine."
Sara W: "Oh--nice to meet you."
Stefan: "Pleasure." (Stefan continually is looking at Katherine.)
Sara W: "Dear Audrey, your incredible recovery has once again demonstrated the strength and determination that have made you a symbol of General Hospital for many years. We welcome you back with love and respect."
Audrey H: "Oh, how nice."
(Tony comes in)
T: "Well, looks like good news travels fast."
Stefan: "Well Audrey, I won't keep you any longer. Once again, all the best.
Audrey H: "Thank you, Stefan."
Stefan: "Amy. Dr. Jones."
(Stefan leaves, Kat too, soon leaves)
Katherine (to Sara in the hall): "You know, I saw that you were concerned about the publicity, and you don't have to worry. There will be nothing in bad taste, and nothing that would jeopardize her recovery."
Sara W: "Well, thank you."
K: "Well I'll see you again soon, I'm sure."
(Nikolas enters)
N: "Ok lady, pull over. Don't you know this is a hospital zone?"
K: "Hi Nikolas. I was just visiting Audrey Hardy. Did you hear she's up and around?"
N: "Yeah, the whole hospital knows."
K: "Have you met her granddaughter, Sara?"
N: "Yes I have. Hello."
SW: "Hello."
N: "Have you reported me to the proper authorities yet?"
SW: "Actually, I haven't given you a second thought."
(Sara leaves)
K: "Well I guess you two know each other, huh?"
N: "Yeah, we ran into each other. Anyway I got more important things on my mind right now. I heard you were here, so I thought I could escort
you to physical therapy.
K: "I'm not going today."
N: "Why not?"
K: "Because I have a million other things to do."
N: "All right, I'll tell you what, if you don't want to go to the gym today, maybe we can do something else."
K: "Such as?"
N: "You'll see."
K (jokingly): "You better be taking me back to my office."
N: "No, no, no, nope not a chance."

(Stefan walks into his office, and picks up his phone.)
S: "Yes, has Katherine Bell returned to her office yet? No, I'll call back later."
(Stefan has a flashback of Katherine and him kissing in the pool.)

(Nik wheels a blindfolded Katherine to the pool.)
K: "Ok Nikolas. Ok that's enough really. I've had enough.
N: "Just hang on for one more minute. I promise it'll all be worth
it."
K: "You know, if I would've had any idea that you were going to insist on blindfolding me, and dragging me out of town, I never would have come
along with you."
N: "That's why I didn't warn you. You ready?"
K: "I don't know."
N: "All right, here we go, the surprise of a lifetime."
(Katherine sees the same pool that Stefan and her were in)
K: "Is this some kind of joke? How could you do this to me?"
(Katherine wouldn't want to be there unless she was with Stefan)

K: "Thank you."
N: "I was only trying to help, you know. I figured you've been working hard on you therapy, and it would be nice if you got out for a little while.
K: "That's sweet of you. I'm sorry I overreacted, it's just--this place it just--it just caught me off guard."
N: "But wait, there's more."
K: "What do you mean?"
N: "I have another surprise."
K: "What?"
N: "Ok. I hired a hydrotherapist to come here to work with you in the pool.
K: "I don't think I could do that."
(Katherine couldn't even think about being in the pool with anyone except Stefan.)
N: "Look, I know that you're private with your therapy and everything, but my family owns this place, and nobody's around here for miles."
K: "What about your uncle?"
N: "He's working. Besides he never comes here."
K: "Really?" (Katherine has a flashback of Stefan and her kissing in the pool.)

N: "I think he got lost"
K: "Who?"
N: "The hydrotherapist. I'm going to call him. Are you going to be
all right by yourself for a while?"
K: "Sure."
N: "All right, this might take a little while so don't worry, ok?"
K: "Nikolas, I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Just go.
N: "All right."
(Kat lies back in the chair, Stefan in a robe walks up and sees Katherine. She feels his presence and turns her head. They lock eyes.)

K: "Nikolas brought me here for hydrotherapy, or I never would have come."
S: "Well I'm glad someone besides the staff is making use of this pace. Enjoy yourself."
(Stefan leaves, Katherine has a sad look on her face, Nikolas comes back)
K: "Did you reach him?"
N: "Yeah, his car broke down."
K: "He probably has a point. These roads can be awfully treacherous."
N: "Not in the summer. But as soon as I get my car delivered, I am going to be completely independent."
K: "Good for you. What kind of car?"
N: "Jag convertible."
K: "Really?"
N: "Yeah."
K: "I love convertibles."
N: "Well, you'll be my first passenger, I promise. So here's my cell phone if you need it and the car phone is on speed dial. Unless you'd rather
come with us?"
K: "No--no, I think I'll be fine here." Kat glances over to the bushes where Stefan is.
N: "All right, well just sit tight and we'll be back in a few minutes."
K: "Ok."
N: "Ok."
(Nikolas leaves, Stefan comes back)
K: "You never miss a chance to spy on him, do you?"
S: "He used to tell me things, now I have to rely on observation. 'Sit tight'?"
K: "It's an Americanism."
S: "Yes, he uses them more and more." Stefan sits down.
K: "Nothing wrong with them."
S: "Well, there is if you're not American. Language is a tool that should reflect one's station."
K: (jokingly): "You really are a terrible snob, aren't you?"
S: "Not really. But, there is such a thing as place."
K: "That's a point I suppose, you've got your place and I've got mine. They'll never be the same. (Sad music starts, Stefan is looking at Katherine
sadly.)

K: "I'm sorry. I asked you to leave me alone, and you have, and I appreciate that."
S: "The choice of necessity doesn't require thanks. I've done what I had to for everyone.
K: "Then why are you here?"
S: "Why are you? You could have left with Nikolas. I miss you. I miss holding you, having you, or not having you since in the end I never really
did." (Stefan stands and moves over to Katherine.) "I'm accustomed to living with loss, that doesn't mean I have to like it."
K: "Don't."
S: "Why? There's no one else here, we won't tell." (Stefan has his hand on Katherine's neck, they begin to kiss, they move their hands to
each other's faces.)

(Stefan and Katherine are holding each other tightly, and kissing.)
K: "It's not fair." (Stefan has his hand caressing Katherine's face)
S: "To want you?" (Kat moves her hand to Stefan's chest.)
K: "To act on it. You agreed to stay away from me. Please have the decency to keep away."
S: "You're lying by my pool, in my retreat, and I'm the transgressor?"
K: "Nikolas brought me here."
S: "And you stayed by your own choice."
K: "Fine, it's my fault. Just go, please."
S: "I'd like to say I'm sorry you're hurting. But the truth is , I'm gratified. It helps somehow to know that you too want what we can't have, what we'll never share. (Stefan and Katherine look at each other and kiss with sadness and wanting, Stefan kisses Katherine's forehead, Katherine raises her head for one last kiss before he leaves. Katherine is left with tears in her eyes. Stefan leaves, Katherine reaches for her cell phone.)
N: "Hello?"
K: "It's Katherine."
N: "Did something happen? Are you crying?"
K: "No it's--it's allergies. There's something in the garden that's making my eyes water."
N: "Oh, well do you want me to cancel your appointment?"
K: "If you don't mind."
N: "Oh all right. I guess I'll tell Price to turn around, and we'll be back in a couple of minutes."

(Later after Kat is gone, Stefan comes back, and puts his hands on the chair Katherine was sitting in.)
