Stefan and Alexis continue their conversation in the graveyard.

S: "To run would be cowardly. However if I walk away."
A: "You still lose. Running isn’t the answer, you can’t run you have responsibilities here. You have a life here."
S: "What life? The position I inherited from my egocentric brother. The legacy I hold for his son. Do you realize how little of my life is actually my own?"
A: "Stefan you have power over everyone and everything."
S: "What if I no longer want that?"
A: "What if I don’t believe you? Ever since we were children, I was there remember? I watched you, I watched you manipulate everyone to get everything you wanted. Well you don’t have to bother anymore. Because you control everything."
S: "Do I? Nikolas’ mother is dead. Katherine Bell may never walk again."
A: "And that’s horrible and you feel remorse. Well you’ll get used to it we all do eventually. It’s not a reason to turn your back on your life."
S: "Desire is sufficient."
A: "Oh, well now you sound just like Stavros."
S: "Well maybe Stavros had the right idea. I just take what I want and leave the responsibility of the consequences to somebody else."
A: "And who would that be. Me? Or Nikolas? I mean have you figured Nikolas into your fantasy? What are you going to do, put a ring on his finger and decree him head of the family now? Are you going to reveal everything that you’ve done in his name? That’s not fair! Or were you considering on taking him with you when, when you disappear off into the sunset?"
S: "I hadn’t, I hadn’t considered it."
A: "Yeah well that’s obvious. What is this about really? What can’t you have without deserting your family? I’m asking you."
S: "Katherine Bell."
A: "You want Katherine Bell?"
S: "You see my problem."
A: "And it’s insurmountable. I mean even if you weren’t married to Bobbie. You paralyzed the woman remember? I’d imagine you might want to tell her that when you ask her to spend the rest of her life with you."
S: "Well perhaps I will."
A: "How do you think she’s going to feel about you? In fact how does she feel about you Stefan? How much time have you been spending with her?"
S: "Enough to know she’s what I want."
A: "You shot this woman, you feel responsible and now you’ve convinced yourself you’re in love with her. You’re not! I know you as well as you think you know yourself, as well as you used to know yourself. And I need you to think clearly about this. I need you to realize that what you’re considering is not a possibility here."
S: "This is not your decision to make!"
A: "No. It’s not is it. Well you’re not in any hurry are you? I mean you could throw away your life next week as easily as you could throw it away today."
S: "Be careful Alexis. To propose delay is a tactic of desperation."
A: "And only a fool acts without considering the consequences. You taught me that. Please don’t do anything about this until you weigh this carefully."
S: "All right."
A: "Stefan I mean it. I have to be in court right now. I don’t want to sit and worry that you are going to destroy your life in the next 24 hours."
S: "I said all right."
A: "All right? Thank you. I’ll see you tonight."
Stefan kneels at Laura’s grave and has a flashback to him, her and baby Nikolas in Greece.
S: "If I told you I loved you that day, would you have gone back to Spencer? I lost you because I waited. I can’t make that mistake again."

Stefan enters Katherine’s room to tell her who he is and what he did.
K: "What are you doing here? I thought you only worked at night."
S: "I needed to see you."
K: "I’m glad. I was just sitting here looking at the crystal tree you gave me."
Stefan is quiet and sits next to Katherine on her bed.
K: "You look very troubled."
S: "There’s something I have to tell you."
K: "I’m listening."
S: "I’m not who you think I am."
K: "Who is?"
S: "I’m Stefan Cassadine."
K: "I don’t understand. You’re Stefan Cassadine?"
S: "Yes."
K: "I wondered why the mysterious Mr. Cassadine never came to see me, but I never would have guessed this."
S: "That was the point it seems."
K: "Well you’ve certainly got my attention."
S: "Katherine. It was me. I’m the one who shot you."
K: "Can’t be true."
S: "It is."
K: "But you didn’t even know me. Why would you shoot me?"
Stefan gives a spine tingling stare. "It was me."
Katherine looks deeply into his eyes.
S: "You do remember."
K: "No. I saw, your eyes they were kind. Not the eyes of somebody who would do this to me."
S: "It was an accident." In a whispered tone.
S: "The night it happened Luke, Luke Spencer came after me with a gun. He might have actually shot me if his son Lucky hadn’t intervened. But he pleaded with his father and finally took the gun from him and threw it down into the ravine. They left. I retrieved the gun."
K: "Why?"
S: "Timoria. Atonement. There are deaths I hold Luke responsible for. Those of my father, my uncle, my brother." Stefan stands.
S: "I saw an opportunity to frame him for attempted murder and I took it."
K: "I’m really trying to follow you here. The attempted murder of whom?"
S: "Me. His mortal enemy. I stood in the spot where Luke had been I aimed the gun at the place where I had been standing. And when I pulled the trigger, in that same instant you appeared. It, it all happened so fast I couldn’t stop it I, all I could do was try to get help as fast as I could."
K: "And when I woke up I didn’t remember."
S: "I should have told you then who I was but I didn’t."
K: "You still haven’t answered my question. Why are you telling me this now?"
S: "It seems I no longer have a choice."
K: "I should know about choices, since I’m the one always making the wrong ones."
S: "You don’t know how I feel about you. Do you?"
K: "No. And I don’t think I want to know. What does that mean anyway? What you feel?"
S: "I don’t know. I’m not sure, I know that we were without the truth, and now we have it. I suppose you decide what happens next. Oh, look at me. Not only out of control but giving it away. What have you done to me Katherine Bell?"
K: "Don’t insult me."
S: "I assure you."
K: " And I assured you it’s only your guilty conscious speaking. Coming to my room. After that horrible thing you did and getting me to trust you and reveal things to you, things I have never told a living soul, it'’, it'’ inhuman. That'’ it isn’t it? You don'’ have feelings like regular people."
S: "Well that’s not true."
K: "And not only are you a married man, you’re a newlywed. How on earth did you manage to sneak out every night to come here? No wonder you didn’t want me knowing your name."
S: "It was you who decided we should remain nameless."
K: "Well it certainly worked out well for you didn’t it? You know I would lie here and think about the things that you said to me all day. They made me stronger because I thought that they meant something. I thought that, but I don’t know what to think anymore about any of it. Do you really think that I want to look at the face of the man that did this to me?"
S: "I suppose I hoped, Katherine."
K: "No, get out. Just get out of here just go! I don’t want to see your face anymore."
She throws the crystal tree necklace at Stefan.
K: "Please don’t drag this out."
Stefan gently replaces the necklace on the bed.
S: "It didn’t break. I don’t seem to be able to leave you, but I will walk out of this room and walk out of your life completely. If that’s what you really want me to do."
The door opens.

It’s Luke. It looks like a barber was mad at him.
L: "What you need at that door is a bouncer."
K: "Luke. I thought you were gone. I thought that they were out looking for you."
L: "So did I. But life’s full of surprises. Isn’t it Stefan?"
S: "Let’s not do this here. In the hall."
L: "Nobody here to see you."
S: "Don’t use her to fight your battles. There’s no need."
L: "That’s good advice. You should’ve taken it."
Stefan walks over to the phone.
L: "Oh you want to call security go right ahead. You’ll be king of nothin’ in about five minutes."
S: "And you’re still wanted by the police."
K: "Put the phone down. Nobody’s going anywhere. I’m not a corpse, I won’t be whispered about in the hallway."
L: "Your information is old, oh wise one. I was already arrested and bailed out. As a matter of fact it was the commissioner of police who asked me to come here."
K: "Mac?"
L: "He believes what I told him. That the man who shot you is in this room, but it ain’t me."
Luke takes a good look at Katherine.
L: "I see that the idea doesn’t shock you."
S: "Katherine. You don’t have to go through this. I can take care of it."
L: "Oh I’m sure he’s already taken real good care of you Katherine. Truckloads of flowers, googahs and bonbons. That’s what he does. Probably baring his soul in here every other Thursday night in here. He preys on vulnerable women like my wife. Take my sister, he did! But you and I can put a stake in this vampires heart, right here, right now. I’m sure he’s told you everyday it’s better to forget it. But who is it better for Katherine? Think about it. If I shot you why would I be here begging you to remember?"
S: "You don’t have to subject yourself to this Katherine. Spencer’s and my statements should be all the authorities need."
L: "It wasn’t very cold that night for December, but it was real misty out on Spoon island. Remember?"
K: "Yes. I remember."
L: "The steps up from the dock were slick, but you didn’t, you didn’t slip did you?"
K: "No."
L: "You could barely see the house from the top of the stairs. The fog was so thick. You didn’t know which way to go."
K: "No."
L: "You looked for the lights of the house but the fog was too thick, so you listened for any noises, any voices. That might tell you the direction of the house, and finally you heard something. What?"
K: "I don’t know."
L: "But you thought it was?"
K: "I thought it was Nikolas."
L: "It wasn’t Nikolas was it?"
K: "No."
Katherine is very shaken and looks at Stefan and remembers the shooting.
L: "You see it. Now say it."
Katherine upset looks to Stefan who remains silent.
L: "He can’t hurt you now Katherine. The shot? When you think of that moment?"
K: "I want to shoot back."
L: "Who was holding the gun?"
S: "Leave her alone! Can’t you see what you’ve done to her!"
L: "What I’ve done!"
K: "The place was so strange. Really so beautiful in the mist. The ground was gone. The whole path had disappeared, but I kept walking so easily. The bushes I passed seemed like the tops of really tall trees, like I was floating through them. I felt the light, I thought I heard Nikolas. I think I even said his name."
S: "Say it Katherine."
K: "That’s all I’ve ever remembered. The rest is…"
L: "(Sigh) No Katherine. The shot, the shot?"
K: "I know there was one Luke. But I don’t have any memory of it."
Luke looks like he just got kneed in the kahunas.
L: "We’ll just leave this for another time."
K: "I’d rather not. But good luck."
L: "Oh you’ll see me again. I’m back to stay."
S: "A few short weeks of mourning your wife has done wonders for you."
L: "Seen Nikolas today?"
S: "What? Why what have you done."
L: "I tell you what. Why don’t you ask the boy?"
Luke speeds out the door with Stefan in hot pursuit. "Spencer!"

K: "He’s just goading you."
S: "He goaded you too. And yet you protected me. Why?"
K: "Do I have to know why?"
S: "I will do whatever you ask. Call Luke back, go to the authorities myself."
K: "I think you should go find Nikolas. Don’t you?"
Stefan considers for a moment and goes. Katherine breathes a deep sigh of relief that it’s over. When Luke’s baaaaaack.
L: "I’m sorry I was so dense earlier. You couldn’t talk with him in the room. Now you can."

K: "You think I’m afraid of him? Look at me Luke. What could anybody do to me?"
L: "I’m looking at you Katherine. It makes my blood boil."
K: "Oh please. All I am to you is a new weapon in your anti-Cassadine crusade. You don’t give a damn about me."
L: "Do you? Do you? What do you care about apart from the freak who gunned you down? Not me, not my kids, not the hospital, the town. I mean Katherine you put this guy away and everybody’s going to be the better for it. And there’s no use pretending that you don’t remember. I saw it. It was right there in your eyes."
K: "I can’t tell you what you want to hear."
Luke grabs a notebook and pen from the night table.
K: "What are you doing?"
L: "Leaving you a prescription that might save your life. This is my phone number. Think about this hard. He saw what I saw. He knows you remember. If you think he’s going to let you walk, wheel or crawl out of here and tell anybody else you’re mistaken. Oh sure, you kept your mouth shut this time and I’m sure he’ll do anything he can to keep your sympathy if that’s what it is he’s got. But this guy takes no prisoners baby. He left Laura’s mother with the faculties of a shoe box. And he calls himself kind for it."
Luke throws the paper on the bed.
K: "Luke. If you don’t want me for an enemy leave Nikolas Cassadine alone."
L: "Call me."
K: "Damn it." As she swats the paper off her bed.

Stefan is heading towards Katherine's room when Nikolas comes up to him at the door.
N: "Uncle."
S: "Nikolas, thank God. When you didn’t answer my page I, I."
N: "I just got here, I came to see you too."
S: "Well Luke Spencer is back in town. He made some kind of insinuation."
N: "I know."
S: "What you saw him?"
N: "No, no just Laura. He didn’t come here to badger Katherine did he?"
Stefan is stunned and puts his hand on Nikolas’ cheek.
S: "Nikolas. You just said Laura."
N: "Yeah she, she came to Wyndemere. Luke didn’t tell you?"
S: "Laura?"
N: "Yeah, my mother. Oh, uncle I saw her. Uncle I spoke to her. It was all a hoax, she’s alive."

Stefan is freaked out. With a furious look in his eyes he puts his hands on Nikolas’ head.
S: "What? What?"
N: "She’s alive."
Stefan embraces Nikolas.
S: "To hell with her Nikolas. To bloody hell with her."
An orderly wheels Katherine out into the hall. Where Stefan is comforting a crying Nikolas.
K: "Hello."
N: "I apologize."
K: "What’s happened?"
N: "My moth..Laura Spencer is alive. I just found out this morning. So I’m still a little off balance."
K: "Laura’s alive?"
N: "Yeah, her death was all a trick. Just to hurt my uncle, and to hurt me I suppose."
K: "I’m so sorry."
N: "Don’t be sorry. I mean all I was doing was regretting all the things I never got the chance to say to her. Well now I’ve said them."
K: "How did this happen?" to Stefan.
S: "I don’t know I..This is the first I’ve heard of it."
K: "Uh well, I was on my way to physical therapy. So if you’d like to use my room to discuss this. I know how absurd that sounds. Nikolas." She says sympathetically.
S: "Well thank you."
K: "Let’s go." (To the orderly.)

Stefan and Nikolas discuss Laura and there’s a knock at the door.
K: "I don’t want to disturb you."
N: "Well this is your room. Where’s the orderly at?"
K: "I told him I need practice trying to steer this thing. Are you all right?"
N: "I’m better. Thanks."
S: "We’re both very grateful for your kindness. Excuse me."
Stefan bows his head as he leaves.

Sonny Corinthos enters Katherine’s room carrying flowers.
Sonny: "Up for some company?"
K: "Yours? I don’t think so."
Sonny: "That’s not very neighborly. How are you doin’"
K: "I’ve been better."
Sonny: "Really. These are for you."
As he lays the flowers at the foot of her bed.
K: "Really? Thank you. You can tell Luke they’re lovely."
Sonny: "What does that mean?"
K: "Oh C’mon. You’re his best friend, you’re his partner. I’m sure he sent you here to lean on me."
Sonny: "Do I look like an errand boy to you?"
K: "You do today. So you can tell him again for me, and enunciate. I don’t remember who shot me."
Sonny: "Your spine was injured. Not your brains. I wanna give you some advice. Finger the shooter. While you still can."
K: "Are you threatening me?"
Sonny: "I don’t threaten beautiful women. But not everybody’s like me. You got something on Cassadine, and that’s dangerous."
K: "That’s your opinion."
Sonny: "You know, we can protect you if you’re afraid."
K: "From what? The man has been nothing but considerate."
Sonny: "Mmm Hmm. You ever been framed Katherine?"
K: "You know I have."
Sonny: "Yeah it’s a lousy feeling being accused when you know you’re innocent."
K: "Not as bad as lying here paralyzed."
Sonny: "The cops have a gun with Luke’s fingerprints on it. The only problem is Luke was a mile away when the shot was fired."
K: "With Laura. A proven liar as his alibi, yeah I heard that."
Sonny: "Cassadine’s out to get them. You should see Laura’s mother. They say she used to be a great doctor. You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at her."
K: "Well there’s another story going around too. The way I heard it he saved her life."
Sonny: "What. By holding her prisoner? You could be next."
K: "Oh please. If Stefan Cassadine wanted me dead he would have left me to die on Spoon island. Instead he rushed me to the ER. He brought in a specialist from Switzerland to treat me. Excuse me if I don’t buy into your threats."
Sonny: "I told you, no threats. Not by me."
K: "No you’re just trying to scare the hell out of me."

Miranda enters the room.
M: "Hey there. Oh, you’re a surprise."
K: "I believe you know Mr. Corinthos."
M: "Yes. He’s a troublemaker. What does he want with you?"
K: "To cause trouble for another friend."
S: "Hey C’mon now. You guys are starting to hurt my feelings."
K: "I think you should go now."
S: "Whatever. I’m going to leave this paper right here. It’ll keep your mind off the jam Spencer’s in."
K: "I doubt it."
M: "You ok?"
K: "Putting up a good front really takes a lot out of a person."
M: "What could Sonny possibly want with you?"
K: "To make me believe that my night visitor who has been encouraging and helpful, is really out to get me."
M: "Well Sonny is full of it."
Miranda picks up the newspaper and looks it over.
K: "I hope so. It turns out that my new friend is Stefan Cassadine. People say he’s dangerous."
Miranda does one of those ‘oh I know something you don’t’ takes.
M: "Well don’t ask me, I’m new in town."
K: "I just find it hard to believe that someone who could be so helpful and good to me, could be so horrible."
M: "Look. I don’t care how nice he is. You are the one who’s going to make yourself walk again. Don’t forget that."

Luke tells Bobbie that something’s going on between Stefan and Katherine.

Katherine puts the crystal tree necklace in the night table drawer, seconds later Stefan enters her room. (No one knocks anymore.)
K: "Why did you come?"
S: "I need to know what you’re going to do. I’m not here to make excuses or to defend the indefensible. But I can’t forget that moment when Spencer was here and you remembered everything. I saw the pain in your eyes when you realized that what I had told you was true. And yet you protected me."
K: "And now you want to find out if I’m going to stick to my story?"
S: "No. I want you to know that you can tell the truth."

Luke with his electroshock Opie haircut plants doubts in Bobbie’s mind about the true nature of Stefan and Katherine’s relationship.

Meanwhile back in Kat’s room.
K: "If I tell them what I remembered or even what you told me you’ll be arrested."
S: "You need to do what’s right for you. And if that means telling everyone that I’m the one who did it. That’s what you must do.. My only caveat is that you consider Nikolas."
K: "I see. So I should keep quiet. If not for him then for you."
S: "No. But I am asking you the favor should you decide to come forward of telling me first. So I can be the one to tell Nikolas."
K: "What kind of fool do you think I am?" Kat asks laughing.
S: "You’re no fool Katherine. And you owe me no consideration. It makes me terribly sad that the trust we’ve built over these weeks has been destroyed. And I’m responsible."
K: "Damn you."
S: "The only thing I ask is that you not let this interfere with the progress you’ve made."
K: "That’s the kicker isn’t it? That I have got this far on that trust."
S: "I don’t believe that. You’ve gotten this far because you’re strong and tenacious. Promise me you won’t give up."
K: "I’m sorry. I can’t promise you anything."
S: "Then promise yourself."
K: "(Sighs) I just have to let you know one thing. If the charges are not dropped against Luke. I’ll have to come forward with the truth."
S: "Of course."

Stefan bows and gives her a last look before he goes.

--Stefan covers his tracks with Bobbie,While Katherine handles the crystal tree and ponders.--

Stefan and Alexis at breakfast.
A: "You told Katherine Bell that you shot her?"
S: "Yes."
A: "Mmm. You promised that you would wait."
S: "It needed to be done."
A: "Well you’ve obviously lost control of all your senses and I think I have enough time to call Zurich to have your bail wired before Mac Scorpio personally delivers a warrant for your arrest."
S: "No one from the police force will be coming here. I assure you."
A: "You think you know Katherine Bell well enough to know what she will or won’t do?"
Stefan doesn’t answer.
A: "Bully for you. I’m not taking any chances."
S: "It’s not necessary Alexis. Katherine Bell won’t go to the police."
A: (Says something that got badly edited but ends with) "I hope."
S: "Am I supposed to know what that means?"
A: "I’m talking about Katherine Bell."
S: "One has nothing to do with the other."
A: "You’re equivocating. I don’t happen to have the same confidence you do that she won’t tell anyone. Will you please let me call Zurich?"
S: "No. Katherine is a woman of her word."
A: "How do you know that?"
S: "I’ve built a kind of friendship with her."
A: "Well I hope you’re right about that because a lot is riding on this confidence you have."
Stefan pinches her cheek.
S: "You worry too much."
A: "Well it’s a dirty job but someone in this family has to."
S: "Everything is under control."
A: "If you say so."
S: "I say so."

Bobbie stands outside Katherine’s room and remembers Luke’s words.
‘And I think something else I saw Barbara. A connection between those two. Some kind of silent communication.’

Katherine opens the drawer and is fingering the crystal tree, when Bobbie enters. They stare at each other for a moment and Katherine replaces the necklace in the drawer.
B: "Nice to see you again."

Meanwhile Laura shows up at Wyndemere to see Stefan.
S: "Your audacity seems to have no bounds. What are you doing here?"
L: "I came to say I’m sorry."
S: "What are you sorry for this time?"
L: "All of it. The deception and how much it hurt you and Nikolas, and the things that were said. I know I can’t make it right. I just want the chance to explain."
S: "You want me to understand why you did what you did?"
L: "Yes."
S: "That will never happen."
L" "You told me that Helena knew that my mother was still alive. I had to protect her, I could not lose her twice."
S: "I have no quarrel with protecting your mother. I did it myself for years. It’s your methods that escape me."
L: "You were supposed to have never known. I intended to stay away forever."
S: "Oh really? Well you told Nikolas you always intended to come back for him."
L: "I know."
S: "And the real truth?"
L: "I would have come back. For him."
S: "Your capacity for self delusion is only exceeded by your lack of regard for others. You were never coming back. Those were merely words you said to keep Nikolas from hating you."
L: "No. I meant them."
S: "And how were you planning to accomplish this touching mother son reunion? Leap out from behind your headstone as he was placing daisies on your grave?"
L: "I don’t know. I would have found a way."
S: "My deepest wish is that when you finally do leave Port Charles again it will be the last time that boy ever sees you."
L: "No. That’s just it I am staying here. I am going to rebuild my life here for my children. All of my children. And my mother."
S: "What does your mother have to do with staying in Port Charles?"
L: "She’s responding to people who knew her and we believe that this is the best place for her to recover."
S: "Well you bring me interesting news. Your mother is making progress and you’re going to remain in Port Charles. Now let me give you a piece of news. I no longer have the slightest interest in you or anyone in your family."

Kat’s room:
B: "Hello Katherine. Nice to see you again."
K: "Bobbie. To what do I owe this pleasure?"
B: "Well actually there’s two reasons. First of all it’s been awhile since I stopped by to say hello. And second I’m doing a general status report on your progress since surgery. So tell me have you been experiencing any pain?"
K: " Not so much. Lessens every day."
B: "Any increase in mobility?"
K: "None. Yet."
B: "Depression?"
K: "Gone."
B: "Hmm well there’s certainly nothing wrong with your attitude. Vitals look good. How about your meds? Any side effects? Upset stomach? Mental impairment?"
K: "Impairment?"
B: "You know, loss of memory?"
K: "Like who shot me?"
B: "The medication could be making it hard for you to remember."
K: "Bobbie I know you’re mistaking this. Because your brother's up on charges. But trying to figure out who shot me is not how I spend my time."

Doc. Tony comes in:
T: "Hello. Are you visiting?"
B: "Oh, I’m checking general status report which Katherine is passing with flying colors."
T: "Well that’s exactly why I’m here. I want you to start making arrangements to go home?"
K: "Really? When?"
T: "You keep improving like you have been, maybe the next day or two. I would like to be there when you tell Mac."
K: "Oh well we’re really not together anymore." Bobbie takes notice.
T: "Oh, I’m sorry. Uh are you all right about this?"
K: "Yea it’s fine. We’re good friends and I, really I’m all right about everything."
Bobbie’s jaw nearly drops to the floor.
T: "You know Katherine I have rarely seen a patient make the turnaround you have. You want to tell me what your secret is?"
Katherine doesn’t say anything. Just looks great on freeze frame.
Doc. Tony has left.
K: "I’m going to send gifts to everyone here who’s helped me out."
B: "Oh, well I assume that includes my husband."
K: "Of course."
B: "It’s all right Katherine. Stefan told me everything."

Back at Wyndemere:
L: "You kept my mother alive all those years. I thought that you might want to know it wasn’t in vain."
S: "How much progress has she made?"
L: "Um well Audrey Hardy came to visit and they were reminiscing about their pasts. And uh my mother remembered something. She actually spoke. It was very hopeful."
S: "Then she’s communicating?"
L: "No. Not exactly, but she has lucid moments."
Stefan slightly laughs.
S: "Well, you didn’t come here to catch me up on your mothers medical breakthroughs. So why don’t you tell me why you’re really here?"
L: "All right. I need you to understand how important it is for my mother to be in a safe place."
S: "In other words you’re asking me for protection from Helena?"
L: "The feud between our families has got to stop. I am asking you to help me do that."
S: "So. You want me to protect you from me?"
L: "I thought we could work together."
S: "I don’t think so."
L: "Oh God, I know I hurt you. I, I’m sorry but please try to put yourself in my shoes. I thought my mother was dead, and then I found out that she was alive and in Cassadine hands and I reacted impulsively. I didn’t know what else to do."
S: "I thought we had reached a new place Lasha. The night I took you to your mother. The night of your grand deception. I opened all the doors of my heart to you. And you remember what you did?"
L: "I kissed you."
S: "Like Judas. I thought it was a kiss of gratitude, understanding even I dared dream love. But you know what it was. It was a kiss of farewell. Like this!" Stefan kisses her violently. Laura pushes him away.
S: "You kissed me like that and walked into a building that exploded only seconds later. Did you ever wonder what that was like for me? Watching that building explode again and again thinking you were inside?"
L: "Of course I did. I felt for you."
S: "You felt for me? Well let me tell you what I felt. An overpowering desire to save you. A surge of energy that sent me rushing toward a burning building. Then a second explosion, hotter, more violent than the first threw me to the ground. The building was an inferno. I knew there was no way you nor Lesley had survived. I was devastated."
L: "I’m sorry. With all my heart."
S: "And what if I had made it into that building and died trying to save your life and left Nikolas with no one? Or was that part of your plan as well?"
L: "No."
S: "You knew the building was going to explode."
L:" No. Not exactly. There was a signal when I first got there, so I knew that there was some kind of plan in motion but I didn’t know exactly what it was."
S: "When did it begin?"
L: "What?"
S: "The deception. I want to know precisely when you set out to destroy me."
L: "Oh God, what does it matter now?"
S: "All right I’ll guess. Luke planting drugs on Nikolas, surely that had something to do with it. Your hoax of a marital separation. What else? Oh yes, the threat on my life. You lied to me, you plotted against me, you maligned me to the world. And then you did the one thing you knew would hurt me most, you kissed me and died and left your first born son motherless! And I promise you yet one more pathetic apology will not wipe away this betrayal!"

Kat’s room:
K: "Stefan told you everything?"
B: "Well generally he tends to downplay his role with patients, but he did mention that he took a personal interest in your case."
K: "He’s meant a lot to me Bobbie. I don’t know if I could have got through this without him."
B: "Oh. What did he do?" Bobbie takes a seat.
K: "Well it’s really the strangest thing. I didn’t even know who he was at first. I just woke up one night and he was standing next to my bed. I had never seen him before so I assumed he worked the night shift." Bobbie has detective eyes goin’.
B: "He didn’t introduce himself?"
K: "It never really came up, and for some reason I liked not knowing who he was. He was sensitive and caring and very helpful. And best of all, he didn’t want anything from me. Unless I got discouraged he insisted I keep my spirits up."
B: "Sounds like he was here a lot."
K: "No. Not really, he just seemed to be here when I needed him. And finally one night he told me who he was and that he was the one that found me on Spoon island."
B: "It disturbed him that you were shot on his property. As if that somehow made it his fault."
K: "He’s a sensitive man. Very helpful and caring, a good friend. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that."
B: "When I first met Stefan, I was at a low point in my life as well. And he gave me exactly the same kind of support he’s giving you." Bobbie gets up to leave.
B: "Well let me know if you need anything ok? I’ll stop by later and say goodbye."
Bobbie leaves and lets out a sigh. Kat seems to know she’s just been checked out.

Wyndemere:
S: "Have you ever taken inventory?"
L: "Inventory? I don’t know what you mean."
S: "On our relationship. Assessed what I’ve done for you, what you’ve done for me. I have quite a few points in my column. Arranging for Nikolas to save your daughters life. Reuniting mother and son, saving your other sons life in the bog. I saved your mothers life and kept her alive all these years and raised your son. In your column? Nothing."
L: "All right. You want to build a case against me, go ahead you can. But I know you better than you think, and everything that you’ve done has been because you wanted something back. And that’s why you’re angry. Because you didn’t get what you wanted. So please don’t stand here pretending to be magnanimous. Because you have kept the feud between our families going. By using mothers and children and life and death in some kind of a demented game you insist on playing with my husband. You have become a monster! You’re cruel! You’re calculating!…"
Stefan raises his eyebrows "Go on."
L: "I didn’t mean that I, I came here to make things better. I swear I did."
S: "But I won’ let you."
L: "Why not?"
S: "Because I’m a monster. Isn’t that right? No compassion, no honor, no conscience and no forgiveness." He gives Laura that icy stare.

Katherine handles the crystal tree. She’s in love.

Wyndemere:
S: "I spent a great deal of my life learning to control my emotions. The one feeling I could never conquer was my love for you. Until now."
L: "Hating me isn’t the answer."
S: "And why not? Because you wanted to use me one last time. Never again."
L: "Stefan please."
S: "The Cassadine’s are so vicious and so horrible. And from your perspective that may be true. But never, never have we traded on love and feelings the way you have. There are names for women like you. But mark me and mark me well. I will not allow you to come here and whore your way out of taking responsibility for the damage you’ve done."
L: "You bastard!"

Suddenly Barbara is there:
B: "Don’t let me interrupt."
L: "I’m sorry."
B: "Oh well, that changes everything doesn’t it? Tell me in your whole life has there ever been anything that I’m sorry couldn’t fix? Well there is now. Go and don’t come back."
S: "No. No, not yet. Please stay."
Bobbie and Laura go at it, while Stefan watches with enjoyment.
