Steve comes to visit/comfort Kayla right before the memorial service for Marlena

Kayla has a surprise to give to Steve...

When Kayla goes upstairs to retrieve
the gift, Bo and Hope arrive to see if Kayla needs a ride to the service.

Bo isn't happy to see his sister with Steve...

Steve feels a little awkward...

Steve tells Kayla to go to the service with Bo and Hope...

Kayla insists that Steve is coming with her.

Steve looks back on the gift he hasn't had a chance to open.

At the memorial service, Steve tells Kayla its better if he doesn't enter the room. It would upset too many Bradys to see him there.

Later in the service, Kayla looks for Steve, but he isn't there anymore.

Steve is waiting for Kayla on her doorstep when she comes home. He wants to see the surprise she got for him.

"What is it?"

"Go ahead, open it"

Kayla bought Steve a brand new pool stick

"What's this for?"

"Do you like it?"

Steve feels bad, he hasn't gotten Kayla a Christmas present yet...

Kayla tells him its not for Christmas, "It's for you! I just wanted to give it to you. Hasn't anyone ever just given you a present for no reason?"

Steve shakes his head...no.

Kayla wants Steve to spend the night...

He's tempted...but says he can't

Kayla says she doesn't want a big commitment, she just wants to be with him. Steve thanks her for the gift, and heads for the door.

"Why? You stay with other women..."

"You're not other women, Sweetness. You see, other women, I can love and leave. But if I love you...I don't think I'd be able to leave."
