(Kayla found Steve beaten up on the docks, and took him back to his apartment).

He refuses to go to the hospital, so she reluctantly offers to take care of him at his apartment.

He teases her as usual

Kayla tells Steve she has to clean his face-

-and needs to remove the patch

Steve is adamant--demands that she not take off the patch.

Steve trembles.

Kayla calmly reassures him

Kayla takes off the patch...

Steve quickly covers his eye

Kayla finishes her work, and leaves to get some antibiotic cream.

Steve is shocked that she didn't even flinch at the sight of his face without the patch.

Kayla comes back & Steve's delirious. He thinks she's Britta.

Chris comes by to check on Kayla. Steve listens to Kayla  express her concern for Steve. Steve also learns she is upset about Kim's baby...

He wants to tell her what  he just found out about Emma's involvement with Andrew's kidnapping, but he is too sick to talk.

Kayla calms him down. She is worried about him, and decides to spend the night at his bedside.

Steve is so moved that despite all of his pain, he struggles to place a blanket over Kayla.
