Kayla is surprised to see Steve

Kayla says she would have worn something else if she knew he was coming

"Its not what you wear baby, its not how you look. It's you"

"I changed my mind, I don't like what you're wearing" (Steve says as he undoes her robe)

"Well I never liked this shirt very much either" (Kayla says as they take his shirt off)

Kayla says its the first time they have been together where no one is chasing them...and she kind of likes it.

Steve says he liked it on the roof, and does that mean she won't go up there with him again

Kayla answers that she would go anyplace, anytime with Steve.

Steve tells Kayla he is going to be away for a few days for an ISA assignment. Kayla doesn't want him
to go.

He promises that when he returns, he will never leave her again.

Kayla says that sounds like a commitment. Steve says that's exactly what it is.

In DC Steve looks at an engagment ring.

The salesman gives him a hard time (doesn't think Steve can afford the ring). Steve surprises the man by offering cash for the ring--the ISA & Govt. paid him a lot of money for his help on a case.

The salesman says that the woman who receives the ring is very lucky. Steve says, " No, I'm the lucky one dude. I never thought I would be asking anyone to marry me, let alone this woman. She's beautiful. I'm, the lucky one."

Kayla gets up to leave the table, and almost passes out.

Steve catches her in his arms

He is very concerned for Kayla

Kayla says she is just overtired and got  a little dizzy.

He is about to take her to a doctor...

When Harper Deveraux arrives and offers to take her home. Kayla thinks she just needs some rest.

Steve and Jo are talking about Kayla's strange symptoms. Steve remembers seeing her drop a cup at the Deveraux mansion...He has seen her tired before, but he's never seen her that sick.

Jo says, "If I didn't know any better, I'd think she was pregnant" Then quickly adds that she knows it's not possible because Jack is under doctor's orders not to engage in any activity due to his illness.

Steve and Jo realize that if Kayla is pregnant...the baby would definitely be Steve's.

At home, Steve plays his harmonica in the dark...

And dreams of what it would be like if Kayla were pregnant..

He reads from a baby name book as Kayla eats a bowl of ice cream.
"Orson, Orville, Oroville, Osbert....You like Osbert?" Kayla doesn't like the name

S:"Hey Moby Dick, are you going to save some of that for me?" K:
"No fat jokes, remember you promised" S: "Thats not a fat joke baby, thats a whale joke"

S: "C'mon doesn't daddy get a little bite?" K:"Ok, but how are you going to explain being fat and looking like a whale?" S:"Mmmm. I wanna look just like mommy" (They laugh)

Steve plays harmonica and sings "Well...mama and daddy were lyin in the bed, mama rolled over and daddy was dead. Mama called the doctor and the doctor said....well Moby Dick you shouldn't have been lyin' in that bed" (they laugh)

Kayla laughs and asks, "What kind of song is that to sing to our baby?" Steve says, "I'm sure Obsert loved it." Kayla: "Osbert!...". Steve:"Ya, I can feel him laughing "

Steve plays a lullaby on the harmonica as Kayla looks at him lovingly
Steve: Is that better?
Kayla: "Mmm hmm wouldn't it be great if our baby was musical just like his daddy?"

Steve: I'm not musical, I just blow the harp a little bit
Kayla:  Oh I know, I hope our baby turns out just like his daddy, because I love him so much
Steve: I love you too Sweetness

Steve rubs Kayla's belly...

Then wakes up from the dream, and he is caressing the empty spot next to him in bed.

Steve laughs, hopeful that Kayla may be pregnant...

And what that might mean for his future with her.

Aftermath:
Kayla had the same suspicions, and took a pregnancy test. She told Jo that she was not pregnant, and Jo told Steve.

Steve and Kayla make love for the first time after she was raped.

Kayla explains that his plane went down, and she thought he had died...

Steve explains he got a flat tire on the way to the airport, so he missed the flight

Steve tells Monty they don't want to hear any more of his predictions

He kisses Kayla and takes her home

Kayla tells Steve that when she thought she'd lost him, she regretted all the time she had wasted, when she could have been with him.

Steve tells Kayla not to be afraid, he couldn't hurt her.

"If you want to stop any time , you just say stop."

Steve whispers, "I want you to want this as much as I do...You do want me don't you Kayla?"

"I'll never leave you, you'll always be with me."
