Stephanie Kay Johnson Is Born (February 19 1990)

Steve helps Kayla through her contractions...

..by reminding her of some of their great times together

Dr. Curtis tells Steve and Kayla they
have a beautiful, perfect baby girl

Steve immediately calls Stephanie
"My little sweetness"

Steve says: "She's such a tiny
thing, and she's so beautiful"

Steve and Kayla Get Stephanie Kay Back After She Was Kidnapped
by the Crazy nanny, Sheila aka Kelli.

Background info:
Steve hired the nanny when Kayla was in prison, accused of murdering his ex wife Marina.
The nanny, whose own baby had died at birth, kidnapped Stephanie Kay and took her to Australia.
When Kayla found out she escaped prison to go look for her in Australia and met up with Steve.
Kayla was cleared of the murder charges by the time she returned home.

Kayla sees Sheila on a bridge, holding Stephanie Kay....threatening to jump
with Stephanie in her arms

Fearing for her daughter's life, Kayla pretends she is willing to let Sheila have
her...

She just wants to hold her one last time...

Sheila agrees...

But Kayla won't let Stephanie go

Steve comes by and throws Sheila off the bridge to keep her from attacking Kayla. Steve falls into the water below with Sheila.

Steve and Kayla are finally reunited with their daughter. (Sheila is taken to prison).

(Back at the hotel, talking to Marcus)

Is Stephanie Kay the cutest or what?

Steve Tells Kayla What It Was Like Being Left At the Orphanage

Background Info: Benji thought he saw his mom in the park, but Steve and Kayla couldn't find her.
Steve knew what it was like to always be hoping that his mom would come for him.

Steve and Kayla comfort Benji

He puts his head down for a nap on Steve's lap

"I remember those first few days in the orphanage. I really felt lost.."

"My mama took me there, she left. I just kept trying to figure out where she went and why she left me at that place."

"So I hung out by the door, I knew she'd come for me. But the door kept opening and it was never her. I..went to bed every night you know, a strange bed, lots of strange people around...it was very lonely."

"I'd sing to myself, I'd sing the lullabies that mama used to sing to me. And I'd tell myself 'Now you just go to sleep and when you wake, up she'll be there smiling at you.' And when I woke up, she wasn't there..."

"Or just like this little dude (referring to Benji), I'd be doing something and all of a sudden I'd look up, my heart would stop. I'd think I'd seen her. But it wasn't her. It was never her. It was always someone who looked like her, or was wearing a dress like she wore. It took me a long time to figure out I was just dreaming, that she was never going to come."

Kayla: "Well you're not alone now, I love you..."

"Mmm I really love you"
